Thanks for your brilliant pics, I hope you are well again by now. I do have a question regarding the paintjob on the Buchon. I like it very well, it is just as it was for the BoB filming, but…. Well, it seems to be quite glossy to me, IIRC, the paint for the film were matt, not glossy at all. Or is my memory playing a trick, it´s been a long time since I´ve seen it last??? Maybe they just applied some extra polish lately, lol.

…… Was it an awful landing ,seemed to be alot of dried mud being kicked up,rough strip as well possibly and the two not combining.
If that was the 109 instead of the 190 probably would’ve been a nasty mess.
I watched the clip several times. At least from the perspective of the camera it seems to be that he touched down just right at the beginning of the landingstrip (take a look at the waiting planes as reference). Maybe that part is quite a rough surface, that might be at least one point, not to forget that the FW 190 has a high touchdown speed. But it´s hard to decide if you are not standing at the side quite to the point of touchdown, video might be misleading as well because of the perspective.
I agree, if that would have been a 109 or Bouchon it could very well have been too much stress for the landinggear, at least it would have been very difficult to keep it from groundlooping.
Just my opinion.

German Seafuries
Sadly I do not have any pic`s of my own. But I would like to post a link to Thomas Genth´s website. It is about his father´s flying life. Amongst others he flew Seafuries as targettugs in the 1960´ies in Germany for antiaircraftgun practice. Many unique Seafury pictures. A very nice website worth visiting the parts not Seafury related as well.

You will find at least most of the German registered Yak´s on MeierMotors` Website. Click left on aircraft and choose the Yak model you want to get information of.

Ferry Flight to owner
On Sunday 23rd both Hispano 1112 D-FMVS as well as Yak 9 D-FAFA were ferried from Bremgarten (MeierMotors) to Heringsdorf (near the Polish border at the Baltic). D-FMVS was flown by well known Me 109 / Buchon “specialist” Walter Eichhorn, D-FAFA by Achim Meier.
Nice picture of the Buchon in flight, isn´t it?

P.S.: I found several short clips made during tank stop (scroll down to find the Buchon and Yak).
It was tried once……
It had a DB605 fitted, right enough, but it WAS tried! :diablo:
Do you mean this one?
Does not look bad, does it?
Better than a Merlin powered 109 if you´d ask me…:diablo:
Michael
P.S.: Maybe someone could consider refitting one with a DB 605 and german markings as well. THAT would be an eye-(and ear as well) catcher. Right idea for BoB….
Pic taken from this site:
I’m confused…..thought that this bird had been repainted in authentic colours, now it seems to have changed. Some kind of problem???
Nope. The one you refer to might be the Fighter Factory´s one (seen in the background of some of the photos). But if you mean the original paint of the Duxford´s one, yes, it was stripped and painted as shown. The new owner mightn´t like his predecessors colour choice….? :diablo:

I’ve heard of these, but I have no idea what the hell it is! 😮
Any chance of enlightening me/us?
@DazDaMan: I found these pics of a Kommandogerät at BMW´s website.

skip intro, click left on “Suche nach Jahr” (search by year) and enter 1940, top link will show Kommandogerät, lower link BMW 801.
Those links below are from a forum related to the 7 series bmw, not bmw itself. Unfortunately there´s no English version / translation available. But you can imagine how complicated the device is. Maybe someone is able to translate, I lack the proper English vocabulary.
P.S.: You do not need to open each page by link, just klick the blue arrow to the right underneath
