What’s the script with the Pilatus?

What I have read at MeierMotors homepage or their FB site (I am not sure which one) is, that they have primarily aquired the P 2 due to several parts were taken from the Swiss 109 Emils when they constructed the Pilatus. If they will use any parts on the Emil project, or if it is just for a template I do not know.

Do you know if the FW190 is a radial or V engined example?

It was engined by an ASh 82 radial. Only info I do have is an old one, that the choice of the engine will be a surprise. That´s all I know, sorry.

    Stearman in the rain …

Weather improved later on, so passenger flights with the TF-51 were possible. Pilot was Marc Mathis, who did fine aerobatics, all passenger stepped out grinning from ear to ear…

I did not take pics of a Stearman project, a Malibu and a P-51 (in for maintenace), several cars and bikes (just mention a Jaguar E-type in primer). Though a large hangar, due to the number of projects space is not cramped, but I´d say confined. Some additional pics here:

I´d like to mention the very kind and friendly attitude of the Meier family, this will not be my last visit there for sure.
I hope you enjoy the pics as much as I enjoyed the visit.

    What Fw190 is that?

This is the ex-Jaquard Flugwerk one, that went into the Mediterranian Sea. It was bought by Hangar 10 as far as I know, but it is a long term project. Their G-6 and G-12 will be done first.

Because it adds to the mystic of the last ‘barn find’

Well, that would only work with the uninformed, wouldn´t it? “Barn find” it for sure is not. Those were planes kept in a barn, if you want to avoid hangar. But the owner for sure knew what he had, and so did a lot in the know. “Barn find” is a scam, or to put it mildly, a poetic description. Maybe it helps selling?

If it is C.4K-61 she wore registration G-AWHF during the BOB movie shooting. Serial No. is 129, last known location Cambridge?. Under restoration to Bf 109 K-4. All of the above info from Falcon´s Messerschmitt Bf 109 Hangar ( http://www.messerschmitt-bf109.de ), [this info last updated 2011], so maybe no longer valid.

Be good if Meir Motors got a Ju52 or a Spanish HeIII

I bet they had to build a new hangar to work on either of them, regarding their cramped place at the moment….

The Buchon project stored at Little Gransden has moved and is reportedly
on its way to Germany. Anyone know if it’s bound for Meir Motors attention?

Any info on the new owner?

Is that an original G-12 cockpit canopy frame?

Yes, it is an original canopy frame, used as template AFAIK. For the interior installation of the second seat they will use photos and measurement they took at Prag-Kbely´s aeronautical museum. They have an Avia CS-199 there, in fact a G-12, but with different engine and different (sliding) canopy. No original G-12 survived anywhere.

It for sure is a long way to the finished product, but the G-12 project seems to come along quite nicely…. Hoping to be able to get a ride in it when finished. Started to save money already, lol… 😉

First I unintentionally misread the title as: TIGHAR pop up again now with added crap! But well, as I am a foreigner, some misread might be in order sometimes….

Fantastic! but I think they got the music wrong………………….. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O0nWE4XQdMM

In fact the Ju 52 starring in “Where Eagles Dare” is one of the four seen in my second link. It was one of the ex-Swiss AF ones, now HB-HOP, HB-HOS and HB-HOT. It was Swiss AF when the film was shot, I do not know which one of the three. (BTW the AT-6 starring as Fw 190 would-be´s were ex-Swiss AF as well, all scrapped after the film.) The airfield scenes were shot in Austria, Aigen im Ennstal near Liezen, used by Austrian AF and private glider clubs and glider training facility (Union Alpensegelflugschule)at that time. HB-HOY, the fourth Ju 52 is in fact a CASA 352, but re-engined with BMW engines.

For the 109 / Buchon buffs

This one is definitely not new, I do not know if the link has been posted before. I found this one by chance, it is worth watching. Featuring Skip Holm flying Harold Kindsvater´s Buchon in 2005. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
