If, Iran was going to copy or modify a existing type. Why not something much more capable like the Mig-29???

During the Shahs time the US did help setup facilities for Iran to maintain its fleet of american planes. They also helped setup other facilities for research and development. I think this is a continuation from that, they may call American the great satan but they do love American hardware πŸ˜€

Yes this topic is going way off.

So if we go by what everyone is saying, it can make logical sence that as China does not give its very best (whether requested by PAF, PA ect or not) its safe to say Pakistan would look to diversify its options by using makers in south africa, france ect. If China is not happy giving its best and better systems are available by other sources then Pak will go to other sources.

From the above one can assume, Raad is south african inspired as China does not offer its best, or Raad can have a mix of South african and chinese input.

Pakistan has a habit of mixing foreign systems into Chinese products. One reason could be not the fact the chinese systems are inferior but what is being offered by the Chinese is not what Pak wants (i.e top notch items not on the list) , so the foreign systems help to balance out the requirement.

Israel scrambles warplanes to intercept ‘Syrian’ birds

Israel scrambles warplanes to intercept ‘Syrian’ birds

JERUSALEM (AFP) β€” Israeli fighter pilots scrambled warplanes on Friday after radar spotted a potential airborne enemy flying from Syria only to discover the culprits were migratory birds, army radio reported.

Israeli radar picked up the birds over the Syrian border but officers were unable to rule them out as enemy aircraft from the screen, the radio said.

Tensions have soared on Israel’s northern border with Syria since Damascus said its air defences fired on Israeli warplanes that dropped munitions deep inside its territory in the early hours of September 6.

The Israeli government has maintained a total blackout on the operation, but the army radio said that military commanders were preferring not to take any risk.

A military official quoted by the radio emphasised that false alerts are common and warplanes are frequently scrambled to head off any precaution.

Israel and Syria are technically at war and the last round of peace negotiations collapsed in 2000, largely over the fate of the Golan Heights which Israel captured from Syria in the 1967 Middle East war and annexed in 1981.

So by your definition Iran has declared war on the US and the US is fully justified in bombing the hell out of them correct?

Iran has not officially declared war on the US, neither has the US officially declared war on Iran, but behind the scenes both are carrying out actions against one another that would make one think a low intensity war is going on. And no US is not justified in bombing anyone, just as Iran isnt.

What target or mission did he name? Please give details.
If Syria did suffer something it is up to Syria to show it to the world.

Both did sign it to get the civil reactors in the 50s. About India Russia kept a blind eye, when it was China in the case of Pakistan.

What does it matter what the mission was or the name, you have a prominent politician in Israeli politics openly admitting to the attack. Both India and Pakistan signing the NTP in the 50’s is news to me.

Do you know more than the Syrians claimed? So far just an unknown number of Israeli aircraft may have violated Syrian airspace. Single trace are some ETs inside Turkey and not Syria! Intentionally or by error is still unknown. Non prevented Syria to react about that, as they did by own AD and a diplomatic note to the UN.
If you have more details to bolster your claim, please show it to us.

Have you not heard netanyahu praising the attack and then being condemned for opening hes silence about it by hes own government. Have you also not heard the Turks protest the violation of their airspace. There is no “may have violated syrian airspace” about it. They have and are keeping tight lipped about it.

Did not India and Pakistan sign the agreement about military nukes

They both have not signed any NPT, or any treaty about not developing nukes.

Ah, another soul who thinks Israel is a terrorist supporting country on the level of Syria and Iran. Got any evidence? Of course it’s escaped your notice that Israel just MIGHT have reason to worry about these nutjobs. (no doubt you will say they brought it upon themselves simply by existing

Well lets have a look at Israeli actions here, violating Syrian airspace and bombing a target inside its territory why cant that be classified as a terrorist attack. Nobody knows how many people got killed in that action.

Israeli actions against the palestinian people are far worse the terrorism, they are on the scale of massacres. So yes the state of Israel is involved in Terrorism itself to meets its own objectives. Difference being they use F-16s, and appache helicopters.

Notice how the US is trying to label the revolutionary guards as a terrorist organisation for supporting Hezbollah and possible attacks in Iraq. Iran is running a proxy war with Israel and the US, how does terrorism come into war?. Both Israel and the US are also running a proxy war, by that logic the Israeli army is also a tool of terror.

Israel is within its right to act for self defence, but so is Syria, Iran and any body else for that matter.

A Syrian military installation rocked by an explosion in July was being used to develop chemical weapons, and Iranian engineers were among those killed, a respected defense publication has reported. Jane’s Defense Weekly said the blast hit the site of a joint Iranian/Syrian project to fit short-range ballistic missiles with chemical warheads. The July 26 explosion struck a military complex … killing at least 15 soldiers and wounding 50 others, according to Syria’s state news agency, Sana. The agency said the blast was caused when high summer temperatures set off high-explosive materials at a weapons depot. But Jane’s cited Syrian defense sources as saying the explosion took place during a test to fit a “Scud C” missile with a mustard-gas warhead. …The magazine said that, in addition to the 15 Syrian troops, “dozens” of Iranian weapons engineers were killed.”

A link here would be helpful, but everybody knows Syria has stockpiled Chemical weapons as a WMD deterent against Israel. This just re-enforces that view, they are weaponising it on their missiles. Now surly your not that naive to think Israel has no WMD and no projects running to arm their missiles possibly with nuclear war heads.

Now from the above, when ever Syria spots an Israeli military complex working on WMD projects possibly arming missiles ect, the Syrians should carry out an attack on the facility to reciprocate.

I am with SOC on this one. If the Israelis want sympathy they should withdraw from the occupied territories, allow a Palestinian state and give up their nukes. Then if Iran goes Nuclear they can justifiably get some themselves and if they get attacked by Palestinians or Syrians or whoever then they can merrily go and bomb them to their hearts content. On another note the US tax payer should not be having to subsidise the current double standards.

For a rare change I actually see myself completely agreeing with you there.

Well to take it a little further what gives them a “legal” right to nuclear weapons? Why should France or the UK be any more entitled to them than Iran?

Might is right. Being ex-colonial powers and the winning side of WWII, add to the fact the creation of a new axis of power (west led by the US) these countries were seen around the world as safe to have nuclear weapons to deter the soviets.

It all comes down to how many people think its right for one to have such weapons. Usually the more money you have and approvals you get from the big boys on the block people turn a blind eye.

No he was refering to Israel and its people. The issue is with ‘infidels’ being in the land of the believer.

Can you actually provide a valid link that has him clarifying saying that its the Israeli people he wants wiped off, because that was a gross mis-interpretation from many sources iv read. But lets play the devils advocate, read my second paragraph above.

The issue is with ‘infidels’ being in the land of the believer.

I think the issue is abit larger than that, something along the lines of the persecution and unjust apartheid acts by Israel of the Palestinians.

Israel isn’t on record saying country X should be wiped from the face of the earth.

The problem with the above assertion is, although Ahmadinejad said to wipe Israel of the map, he was refering to Zionism and the Israeli government itself, abit like the US calling for regime change in Iraq. But lets go on the premise of Ahmadinejad saying to wipe israel of the map, most arab countries quietly would want the same, him being politically incorrect is what is playing in the media. I dont think even Ahmadinejad would be that insane to actually carry out any kind of mass WMD attack on Israel. Israel hosts holy sites to Islam as well as Christianity and Judaism, another side note it also has millions of arab muslims living there as well. This whole notion of wiping israel of the map is just being playing constantly in right wing media outlets to start those war drums.

No country would carry such an attack out knowing the retaliation would see its end. The real reason behind this Irani nuke scare by the west is, the west is scared if Iran go’s the nuclear way rest of the arab countries in the persian gulf region will follow.
