Tests of non-nuclear submarine “Saint Petersburg”, the head in the project 677 “Lada”, will be completed before the end of 2016, he told RIA Novosti on Friday, the official representative of the United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC).

Rosneft says Zvezda Far East Shipyard and Nantong COSCO Heavy Industry Co.,Ltd(CHIC) have signed a contract for the supply of 9 cranes for Zvezda shipyard in the presence of Igor Sechin, Rosneft Chairman of the Management Board. The document was signed by Evgeny Kraynov, Zvezda Project Leader and Zhao Zengshan, General Manager of Nantong COSCO Heavy Industry Co. Ltd.

According to the contract, CHIC is to supply equipment with unique characteristics to the construction site of Zvezda shipyard in 2016-2017 – a 1200 t Goliath crane, four 320 t cranes and four 100 t cranes.

The first tests of the Russian Navy’s new hypersonic Zircon cruise missiles have been launched in Russia, a senior defense industry source said Thursday.

“The tests of the hypersonic Zircon missiles have begun using a ground-based launching site,” the source told RIA Novosti.
