    Severnaya Verf (United Shipbuilding Corporation) has commenced mooring tests of ELBRUS, a lead combat logistics ship of Project 23120 built for RF Ministry of Defense, the shipyard says.

    New diesel-electric project 636.3 Krasnodar submarine will be put into service of the Russian Navy on November 5, 2015, says press center of RF Defence Ministry. Flag raising ceremony will be held in Saint Petersburg. Krasnodar submarine is the fourth in the 6-submarine batch.

    Some people are holding out hope that it will be worked on in the new far east Zvezda shipyard expansion, but it seems exceedingly unrealistic to me.
    Peter the Great will follow Nakhimov @ Sevmash.

    Yep, I highly doubt she will be recommissioned. Maybe 4 years ago I too thought that maybe Russia will place her at the new far east shipyard when the yard is ready but now I don’t think that is going to happen. Especially since it looks like the recommissioning of Nakhimov keeps getting moved further and further in the future.

    So, Bystryy has left to India. That is Interesting news. 1155s does a lot of long deployments every year but Sovs not so much.

    Vyborg Shipyard (United Shipbuilding Corporation) will lay down the lead icebreaking ship for Gazprom Neft Novy Port on November 3, 2015, the shipyard’s press center says. According to the statement, the series will consist of two vessels.

    Recent news about trials.

    Sea trials of ocean rescue vessel Igor Belousov, built for the Navy of Russia, were held in the waters of the Atlantic Ocean and the Baltic Sea, says press center of RF Defence Ministry. The vessel arrived in St. Petersburg to prepare for the state tests, which are scheduled for the second half of November this year. The rescue vessel Igor Belousov is planned to make part of the Russian Navy by the end of 2015, after completion of state trials.

    On October 29, 2015, Vyborg Shipyard (United Shipbuilding Corporation) will hold a ceremonial launching of diesel-electric icebreaker Novorossiysk (Project 21900М), the shipyard’s press center says. Novorossiysk is the sister ship of Vladivostok delivered to the customs in October 2015.

    By the way, has anyone seen any news about the 2nd ships? Murmansk should be very close to been Commissioned but I haven’t seen any news about the ship for a while now.

    An agreement on leasing another Russian nuclear-powered submarine to India is to be signed at the Russian-Indian summit in December, a source at India’s Defense Ministry told TASS. According to the Russian source, the submarine will undergo fundamental upgrade in line with the customer’s requirements at the Amur shipyards, where it is at the moment. The repair, upgrade and testing work and the Indian crew’s training are to be completed by 2018.
