Two more Mistral for french navy?
Russia Could Take Command of Half of Ukrainian Fleet β Lawmaker
The Slava class cruiser Ukraina sits docked and unfinished at the harbor of Mykolaiv in southern Ukraine π
sI mean there could be Flanker flying around at further distance. Flanker has long legs with longer range missile. any time it can come after those Short range old F-16s from very far distance. This short endurance fighters have this disadvantage of wasting a lot of imported fuel in takeoff and landing. Combat air patrol are better done with long endurance fighters like Su-27/MIG-31.
Specifications (F-16C Block 50)
Combat radius: 340 mi (295 nmi, 550 km) on a hi-lo-hi mission with four 1,000 lb (450 kg) bombs
Ferry range: 2,280 nmi (2,620 mi, 4,220 km) with drop tanks
Specifications (Su-27SK)
Range: 3,530 km (2,070 mi)at altitude; (1,340 km / 800 mi at sea level)
Specifications (Su-35S)
Range:
High altitude: 3,600 km (1,940 nmi)
Ground level: 1,580 km (850 nmi)
Ferry range: 4,500 km (2,430 nmi) with 2 external fuel tanks
Seem fairly comparable to me. That, plus aerial refuelling …..
Does someone know the status of the GENESIS modernisation program of the Turkish G class (Oliver Hazard Perry class) frigates?
It would be interesting how they look after addition of SMART-S and Mk 41 VLS.

Yes – add in small vessels, ferries, and hospital ships as part of the combat fleet to hide the actual size of the USN.
`Ships that do not regularly deploy overseas, for example, wonβt be counted, but ships of the same type that do will be included.`
So…. USN keep your ships at home.
Is a Light Carrier in Singapore’s Future?
Pls, lets not make the mistake of calling any and all ships with a flight deck a carrier!
So the sole qualified bidder “wins” the contract?
You could always decide to NOT built it?
Edit: With admirable timing my former service step up to help validate my point with a demonstration – http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-cornwall-26577109 :stupid:
You just gotto love that :highly_amused: (whoops)
The frigate USS Taylor.
US warship deployed near Sochi runs aground
Well…. ran aground?
A senior Turkish port official said the ship’s propeller scraped the surface as it was mooring at Samsun

pls fix first link.
US MLP completes acceptance trials
That thing is so weird..
Assuming money is not an issue …
Use several of Lockheed-Martin’s Single Cell Launcher, put against the main superstructure sides, say 4 on each side. Use these in combination with the company’s Extensible Launching System to allow quadpacking of different types of ordnance. Given 8 cells armaments can be e.g. 2×1 quadpacked Nulka decoy (8 decoys), 2×2 for quad packed RIM-116 RAM block 2 and 2×1 for quadpacked ESSM (total 24 missiles, WM-28 CAS should be able to illuminate for ESSM out to 36km, since the antenna in the top half is essentially a lower gain STIR 2.4, much like Thales STIR 1.2 and STING. If not, just use RAM in 6 cells. Note ESSM would require installation of a new 3d radar). Then 2×2 or 2×4 Harpoon forward of bridge, 2x triple ASW torps on the flanks (Note: ASW armament requires reinstallation of a sonar). Rather than a radar (which would be needed if ESSM were used), install Thales Sirius IRST on the rear mast, this will allow the ship to operate and defend itself passively, when combined with ELOP directors for gun(s). Sirius’ range is horizon (i.e. dependend on mast height). Weld platforms to the stacks to install remote control 25mm, 27mm or 30mm cannon and if necessary e.g. a Rafael TopLite elop director. Keep Phalanx, 76mm. Link it all together using e.g. Turkish Havelsan GENESIS digital combat management system

I wanted to turn the Hamilton Class into a Command and Control Frigate and that is why I added the large 3D Long range surveillance radar and a two layered CIWS defense with the Phalanx and the RAM systems. I was going to add the SMART-L Radar to the image but it did not look right so I settled on the AN/SPS-48 radar. These ships would act as flagships with their advanced long range sensors and command the Sea Fighter Class Corvettes and Ambassador MK.III Class Attack Craft in fleet operations.
It used to have a 250 nM SPS-40 two-dimensional, long range air search radar
Larger, heavier AN/SPS-48E displayed range: 220 NM
RAN-40L?
Why not something a little more compact and lighter (Smart S Mk2, TRS-3D, MRR-3D)?
+
triple ASW tubes go on the flanks
Hamilton Class: drop the Phalanx, put a SeaRam there, no need for a 21 round RAM launcher. Why AN/SPS-48?
Schiebel also has designed a larger model, provisionally dubbed the S-200, which would offer 10 hours of flight endurance and a payload of up to 440 pounds.
