But not leading to any agreement. I.e. simply exploring.
Nearly as funny as the Russian ‘Doomsday Machine’ nuclear AUV/torpedo from a few months back.
So, while those two are off playing cat and mouse togethers, we can focus on real ships 😉
Unfortunately, it is a boring grey, not the classic Soviet brick.
I personally liked the green sometimes used

Agree. At least one. With a bitt of creativity a pair, just below the main radar, with 2 ELOP-gundirectors left and right on the side of the superstructur. The frontal arc defences could use some beefing up. Alternatively a second Elta’s EL/M-2221.

Good lord that thing is ugly.
If you think that is ugly (Hetz subclass) try this (Aliya subclass)

Nice, thanks

Having to cut open the hulls of multiple new(ish) warships to add more generators because they keep going dark? Sounds like the sort of balls-up you’d expect from an Australian project. 😮
“They’re essentially going to have to squeeze in an extra generator to improve reliability.”
Apparently they have room for it….
The UK for one, but also anyone else operating carriers and or the F35B at sea….
A longer range version might also form a suitable basis for a carrier based tanker, if that role is not taken up or only partly taken up by an unmanned aircraft
She’s received some weapons from the decommissioned P16 frigate Godavari. In 2014, a naval review board decided Godavari would be decommissioned the following year. After 32 years of service, she was decommissioned on 23 December 2015.A senior naval official said she would first be stripped of her weaponry and any salvageable fittings, and then most likely be sunk as a target ship. Two of her four AK630s ended up on Vikramaditya, as did her three 8-cell Barak 1 VLUs and the Elta’s EL/M-2221 a fire control radar. IMHO, she could use two more AK630 e.g. over the forward bridge, below the big Podberezovik ET2 radar, to plug the gap in air defences in the forward arc.

India decommissions first Godavari class frigate
Good. Here come some BARAK1 VLUs and missiles directors for the Vikramaditya carrier! (I do suppose those are worthwhile to recycle)
Just look how small the sailors are ….

Hi Jinan,
I am familiar with the Prairie-Masker system, which I believe relates to the acoustic signature reduction of radiated noise.
The tubes on the Neustrashimy are ‘dry’ and I think may be related to reducing the IR signature. This coupled to the active decoy flares would cover quite a bit of the electro-magnetic spectrum. But I am still looking for any open source reference as to what the hell it is. I am trawling through the Russian Patents, but have not found it yet.
Or it is just crustiness from painted over rust. What’s with that wire?

Yarusval Mudry: no sign of it.

Oh, that’s way too high up for what I’m thinking of. Nevermind what I said.
You were thinking along the lines of the US Prairie-Masker system (underwater)?
There is something else that could be pulled off the retiring Tariq class to finalise the weapons fit of the PNS Alamgir, the LY-60 SAM system. Bolt the box launcher forward of the Harpoon launchers. Then get the MK92 radar to talk to the missile system.
Would some sort of load carrying construction be necessary? I’m keeping the way 25mm cannon were mounted on USN Perry’s in the end in mind

Or was that done simply to raise the gun, so it could fire over the bow better?
(I don’t suppose they want to loose the forward vertrep spot, so I guess the question is whether what remains of the Mk13 launchers can support the weight)
It also begs the questions what would guide the LY-60? Can it rely on the CAS-egg, is there still space behind the main mast for a missile director (replacing original STIR)

Give it a following sea and good wind over the beam and more than a few observers believe its profile will reduce itself significantly!.
Grin.
