A couple that I like…

Could the Vigilante have been the navy’s equivalent to the air force’s F-111? If memmory serves me it had four underwing pylons, and decent range. Could they not have removed the bomb tunnel and put two tandom weapons racks in it’s place?
I don’t like how EELightning is painting Canada with the same brush as Japan, South Korea or the other countries that are trying to get a better deal from LockMart. Our late evaluation stems from internal political break down. When all the opposition bands together to force the conservatives to go through the process even though the outcome will be the same.
We do have an air force pilot with Boeing right now and he is trying to lobby for the super hornet. Stating easy transition from the legacy series to the super bug. We have included the Eurocanards because they are options as well, even though the deck is stacked in the Americans favor.
With regards to Rii… It amazes me that our two countries have a lot in common, But our defense expenditures are so different. I really think my government should stand back and look what Australia is doing and adjust accordingly to fit our needs.
It’s not that we are trying to get a better price. It’s that the price for the F-35 is becoming to high.
Our Liberal party is making a big fuss over the price and saying that we did not do a fair evaluation of the competitor aircraft. Even though it was the Liberals who started the F-35 fiasco before they left parliment. And now the conservitives are keeping with it.
We our now looking at the other aircraft just to shut the opposition up. I have no illusion that we will get the F-35 for our air force. As much as I would like to see the Rafale or it’s cousin EF-2000 in Canadian colors, it will be F-35 or the weaker super hornet.

You are so biased against China. :dev2:
Yeah I guess so;) But I guess I am biased against Americans because I don’t think to highly of the F-35. Which scooter seems to be making it sound gospel!
you so bias because thats all you have left. you fail because china could export j10 but russia cannot export su34 because you know when russia export su34 it will be very expensive!! also you are ignorant because iraq use chinese airplane before too
I usually skip over his posts as they are meaningless…. But I had to say something here.. Ha ha ha Chinese indeed:D
This is for Obi and is also off topic….
I really like reading and look forward to your posts. They are very informative and well thought out. I hope you contribute more to this forum as I don’t see you enough on here.
I would like to add the comet and the sabre.

I really don’t understand my government sometimes. Why don’t we drop the F-35 and buy the Rafale or Typhoon already. Or as will happen buy the stupid bug.
what is that?
That was the CF-105 Arrow.
The most beautiful Canadian design…

Are these the solutions though?
I can see them being so for an interim buy to keep pilots current, but maybe not for what is actually required operationally. All are relatively shortranged jets.
The F-16 will either have to have tankers equipped with a boom, or have that Carts thing installed.
Can’t see either happening.
I have seen displays of an aerial refuelling probe that is said to be for the JF-17, but have never seen an actual JF-17 equipped with one.
From what I can make out, although the Mirage 2000 has many huge advantages over the Mirage III, it’s range isn’t exactly one of them.
It at least has a refuelling probe currently.
I think they are solutions for upgrading their fleet. The Mirage 2000 has great range to protect Argentina, and also gives them new capabilities they haven’t had.
As Buitreaux has said before, The Argentine air force wants new jets. But in the mean time upgraded second hand will do to keep proficiency up.
I have a feeling that barring the Super Etendard and Skyhawk they will lose their fast jets. They will be flying their Pampa’s for the for seeable future.
Happy New Year from Canada!!
