    RE: Boeing’s ‘big bird’ unveiled

I know the Russians were working on Ekranoplans (spelling!!). To my knowledge, the didn’t have a problem with efficiency when the aircraft was flying. The problem was that it needed huge amounts of energy to get it flying in the first place!! For example, that large aircraft mentioned above, had something like 10 jet engines, but it only used 2 for cruising. I think those figures are correct… They’re from a Channel 4 documentary… years ago!!

Yeah, A-10 and F-4 look the best with Sharkmouths! Although I have seen a pic of a rather mean looking F6F with a sharkmouth… Looks great because of the blue background!!

RE: Downloading : how dangerous is it?

Christer… You know, I’m not sure!! All I know is I chatted to some computer buff… he went on the net… and in about 30 seconds gave me a floppy disk and told me to run it!! It wouldn’t run on my PC… might have been an XP thing!! But anyway… it lists the files you need to get rid of… so he did it manually!!

Sorry I can’t be of more help!

There’s a file somewhere which tells your PC to run slowly, I had this problem with I-Mesh. My Pc still ran slowly after I got rid of it… but, there’s a program on the net which will delete this file, and my PC was back to normal!!

Benair… I knew about Elvington!!!! It’s runway is so thick, because it’s built on soft ground… so they just kept dumping material down until the runway stopped subsiding!!

RE: I’ll never forget that horrible day….

I went into work… and heard on the radio, something about a plane hitting a large building… so I thought, ah, they’re telling a story about that plane that hit the empire state building… B-25 in 1940… ish ?? Anyway, then they said it was an airliner… so I went and turned the TV on in the shop… and thought… OH HELL… I couldn’t believe it. I started watching the coverage a few minutes after the second plane hit… and saw the towers collapse… very sad. In the shop I was breaking the news to people who came in and knew nothing about it.
