That’s exactly the way I think! I’ve made minor blunders while producing models… It all adds a personal touch to them! Well… that’s my excuse anyway! 🙂
Heathrow visitors centre provides a great view of the airport… and aircraft operation out of one of the runways… can’t remember if it’s north or south! There’s a model of the airport in there… some models of aircraft… some info about what BAA does for the community… like soundproofing grants etc. There’s a mock up of a cockpit… I think… 777 (?). That’s all I can remember from my trip 1.5 years ago!! Oh, there’s a conference room in there too!! And a cafe!!

I’ve been there!!! Quite enjoyed it!! I wasn’t lucky enough to see a Mustang fly, but I got a display by the Fieseler Storch. While I was there I also took a flight in a New Standard D-29. Were they offering that to you when you were there? Quite fun… I’d never been in an open cockpit aircraft before, so I thought, why not!!!
Well, someone will have calculated that it’s possible to get the aircraft off that runway. How much runway does it take for a normally loaded 747 to take off from anyway?
