RE: What’s the SHORTS 360 like??

I had to do a piece of coursework on the Shorts 330, the 360’s predecessor. It’s a basic aircraft, designed for commuter flights. Pressurisation was thought unneccessary because it wasn’t expected to be airborne for long enough to climb to great heights. It isn’t exactly the most aesthetically pleasing aircraft in the world, (but when you have to draw it on CAD for you’re coursework… It’s a godsend!!) It has wing struts so that the internal structure inside the wing doen’t have to be excessively strong and complex. The main landing gear units are positioned in sponsons to keep the constant cross section of the fuselage, and the fuselage is humped so the main spars don’t get in the way of the cabin.

RE: What Languages do you speak?

I speak English, and bad English. I like several others learned French at School for 5 years, but I haven’t spoken any for 3 years… and have forgotten most of it!! I can (or could) say about 50 polish words… the most important of which were “I don’t speak Polish”.

I’m just finishing my first year of an Aeronautical Engineering degree at Loughborough University. Hopefully I’ll end up as an aeronautical engineer. But, we’ll see!!!

    RE: A380 status

Yep, but Airbus will have some great designers, and aeronautical engineers who will find out what the aircraft can and can’t do before they start to build it. Airbus wouldn’t spend so much money developing the idea if it couldn’t get off the ground in 10000feet.
