Was number 3 the British Airways 737 at… Manchester (?) I have a vague memory of a 737 with the top burned away… is that the one?

Interesting idea Benair… I’d love to see 747’s at LBA on a regular basis!! Of course, the people living in the tiny village of Scotland on the southernmost end of Runway 14/32 wouldn’t!!

I flew with BMi from Manchester to Washington, and Chicago to Washington, both these flights were full! This could be due to the easter school holidays, but I didn’t see many children!

There was one at Orlando International when I landed there. It was quite far away from the runway… but still huge!!

I’m a baptised, comfirmed Roman Catholic. As far as the God issue… I’m at an uncertain stage. I believe there’s something there… but I’m not sure what.

There were some posted on AFM a while back!!

One which springs to mind has a caption of:

“Tomahawk… the fastest way to your god!”

    Anyone got it?

Airbus wouldn’t agree with you!! All aircraft designers hate landing gear!! It is heavy, it takes up space, and is only used when the aircraft is on the ground! If you could figure out a way to dispense with the landing gear you’d be a rich man!!

How much heavier is the double bogey landing gear?… just out of interest!

    RE: Airplane accidents

I’m with you Comet! I don’t think the age of an aircraft matters either. All aircraft are subject to numerous checks on the airframe and engines. The aircraft have been desingned by people who know what stresses on the aircraft will be, and how this will affect the materials they have been made from. Each component produced for an aircraft also undergoes a strict quality control process, so if there is a part which stands a higher chance of failure, it is rejected, and not used.

I’d fly an aircraft of any age, it is the safest mode of transport, and if the plane happens to crash… it’s just my unlucky day.
