Zoom has an amazing colour scheme and I am dying to get hold of a Zoom model aircraft!!

Jason, there were lots of MyTravel aircraft at Brum too, including MyTravelLite A320 G-JOEM, FlyBE (great airline) Dash 8 G-JEDI, and not forgetting Monarch B757-200 G-MOND (the aircraft I flew to GIB on in the cockpit!) and A321 G-OZBE. A321 G-OJEG was scheduled to be at BHX yesterday, but we didn’t catch it. Also saw the SAS B737-500?

Saw lots of BA EMB145’s and CRJ’s which became boring. Duo aircraft were there in abundance too.

My favourite UK airport, and I think Dean and Jason can perhaps understand why. I’ve flown about 11 roundtrips from there over the last 10 years. It really has changed alot in the last 3 years.

A shame BA don’t have the A319 based there anymore.

Thoroughly recommended as a spotting location, and it is cheap to park in the NCP long stay at £5 per visit.

One reason why FR are based at STN is due to the fact that DUB has very expensive airport charges (due to Aer Rianta) and STN is very cheap. One way to be able to sell cheap seats….

Duesseldwarf and myself’s last flights were LTN/GIB/LTN last month with Monarch Scheduled B752 each way (G-MONC).

    Next ones are:
    LTN/BFS/LTN with easyJet (Sep 03)
    LTN/ZRH/LTN with easyJet (Oct 03)

At least it wasn’t a Ryanair B737-200 series. I’m thankful for that Dean!

Passengers soon regretted asking for a ‘window seat’ when they were sucked out of the aircraft!

or ….Ryanair have done away with the rear galley after axing their expensive snack service.

Being an airline beancounter, the cost of ownership for a B757 is very low due to the age, with an A321 being much more costly with higher monthly lease rates…….however, the A321 weighs substantially lease in terms of MTOW (maximum take-off weight) to a B757, so is cheaper in landing and navigation costs.

Monarch Scheduled launch two new routes from Manchester Airport at the start of November.

Manchester – Tenerife will operate daily on an Airbus 320 aircraft, commencing 1st November 2003.

Manchester – Gibraltar will operate three times a week on an Airbus 320 aircraft. The days of operation are Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

These two new routes from Manchester increase Monarch Scheduled’s destinations from this UK airport to six – Malaga (twice daily), Alicante (twice daily), Palma, Faro (daily), Tenerife (daily) and Gibraltar (3 per week).
(All available this winter from Manchester – and there is another destination yet to be announced from Manchester for this winter).

Monarch Scheduled passengers benefit from low fares, with the added advantage of receiving in-flight entertainment, newspapers, drinks, hot meals, hot towels and pre-bookable seats included within the fare price.

It doesn’t come as much of a surprise that it should be an FR 732.

They are very uncomfortable to fly on due to the way FR fly them (in my opinion). Especially 2.5 hours to VST in Sweden!!!

    I first flew in Easter 1987 with British Airtours flying LGW-FAO-LGW on a Tristar o/b and a B757 i/b (I think a B757 was involved coming home??).

The outbound flight was delayed about 12 hrs or so, and we made the BBC news sitting asleep in the departure lounge!
