I cant claim credit for the F-15 promo, that has been done by the owner, Steve Cannaby.
New F-15 nose art.
Actually, this was at a beach party. in reality G man is a polite gentlemen , he just stares and doesnt touch.
For the Cockpit-Fest USA Friday night party we plan to provide models to pose with the exhibitors cockpits. Should be fun!
Justin
The 707 cabin is in storage. It was a scratch built studio set. The cockpit was made from real parts.
The B-52 is a real cockpit sitting on a simulator platform and with a radome covering the entire front of both. The sim was put together in the 1960’s by Boeing.

I enjoyed your website! Nice collection!
Justin
Are you able to hear the audio ok? I cant hear it at all on my laptop. Im away from home so cant check it on my desktop.
Lon is giving full support from the museum. Friday night KAM is even providing a complimentary dinner and beer for the cockpit exhibitors welcome party π Once it is dark we will also turn on navigation lights on some of the museum’s aircraft to providing mood lighting on the aircraft ramp.
Here is a nice TV interview with Kansas Aviation Museum Director Lon Smith promoting Cockpit-Fest π
I would enjoy seeing photos of the inside of the cockpit in your F-4.

Much to the dismay of my bank account…………I flew the f4 Sim in Yorkshire last year.
Magic is too small a word.
Flying that sim is on my bucket list. Do they have you wear a working g suit? That would be a nice effect with the motion base.
I would also love to ride in the back seat of the Collings Foundation’s F-4D, but that would require that I take out a very big loan. π
Hi Justin
Thanks for the info and photos. To be frank I am a little surprised, I knew that there were cockpit collectors in the US but I didn’t realise that they supported so many events / airshows. Do you guys get invited to the AF airshows and other events or do you arrange it so that you are invited? I would like to hear more about the movement over there and would definitely like to see more photos.
I own 4 cockpits but unfortunately am stuck in a backwater of the world where the opportunities that you enjoy just do not exist. I saw on Deweys website that he is booked for nearly every weekend this year, that is just amazing! Would love to create closer ties with the cockpit movement over there so just drop me a PM whenever you feel like it.
Paul
PS Your DC8 looks really cool but possibly a tad large for easy movement.
I only know of two guys taking cockpits to airshows full time, and a couple who do local shows. They are all into the photo booth thing. Steve and I are more into cockpits converted into sims and go to select shows for the fun of it.
Each show can be entirely different to get into. Most ask for way to much money. Guys like Dewey have long drives to catch the shows and expenses quickly get out of hand.
My DC-8 requires permits and escort vehicles on the road. Its an event π
Justin
This A7 Corsair cockpit was for sale on ebay a couple of years ago. They may be interested in coming to your event.
There are plenty of photos of enthusiasts enjoying the cockpit, worth a look! Do you guys at Newark attract that crowd?

Paul, it so happens Dewey was already booked for the McConnell airshow so he will not be at the Museum Saturday and Sunday. I hope he can visit the museum with the A-7 on Friday.
I took these neat pictures of his A-7 recently at the Barksdale AFB show. We were there with the B-52 sim and Steve Blevins was there with his F-4 Phantom. We all went out for a nice dinner to catch up. I guess Ill add a pic of the F-4 as well. That is a flying Phantom in the background, the last of the two QF-4E flying in the US. The rest are now QRF-4C
DC-8 cockpit
Im going to go ahead and plug some of my personal projects. I have a Pan American/Grace DC-8-31 that will not make it to Cockpit-Fest this time around. Monday I finally get to pick up a nose radome for her and will have new photos to share in about a week. π
This was the first ever DC-8 to fly from North to South America. Later she flew trips to Europe. She was part of the original 1955 Pan Am order for the very first DC-8s.
