    Yes, exactly!

How can it be a zero-sum investment if millions of people end-up owning something that they cannot ‘afford’; something the government doesn’t own yet provided on easy terms?

And what about those on income-support or housing-benefit; in those cases the government pays for somebody to rent-to-buy a property from the government…

…there is another way to describe that…..a free house!!!

As regards housing benefit etc, currently we have the situation where the taxpayer shovels cash into private landlord’s pockets, very often for some substandard housing, we not only give those on benefits a roof over their heads, but also pay the mortgage for a private landlord, still a free house. At least with council funded rented accommodation, the council still owns the house that they pay for.

Yes, I’m pleased to comfirm that my right wing dictatorial garbage is probably equal to your left wing dictatorial garbage. Note my modesty: I’m not claiming that it is better.

One slight difference, I have not and would not attempt to shut anyone or anything down merely because it didn’t agree with my opinion, our national broadcaster is probably as independent as we are likely to get, those from the left think the BBC is establishment biased, those from the right think the BBC is biased to the left, must be about right in the middle.

It is just an opinion – Trekbuster – but I think that on past showing in Brussels, Nigel would have had no trouble dealing with Billy Berk

Seeing that Farage has been about as much use as a chocolate teapot in Brussels, he can only improve from there.

I didn’t think even you were capable of such a pile of right wing dictatorial garbage, anyway you who wish to silence the BBC in favour of the likes of Murdoch, will probably get your wish, I predict that the amount the BBC gets from the TV license will be cut, probably to fund another tax break for hard pressed millionaires.

Are you suggesting the ‘no shows’ were mainly Labour voters then?

    (Or Liberal-Democrat, or UKIP?)

Not at all, but as usual we get the spiel that the people have spoken, truth less than two thirds have spoken, clearly I’m not happy with the result, but that is what it is and we have to live with it for 5 years, it would be more palatable if more voted even if the Tories still won, at least I would know that my views were in a true minority.

With Scotland out of the equation certainly for the time being, and a rigging of constituency boundaries on the way, it’s going to take a lot of work to pull Labour back, all the Tories need to do is continue with their cuts in the North, London and Wales, keep the rest sweet and they are home and dry.

If only the no shows would get out and vote not only in Scotland, but across the UK

This must be a wet dream for Cameron, Labour has lost Scotland, today Alex Salmond blustering on TV how this was a major step towards full independence, without Scotland can Labour recover? or are we doomed to life under the Tories for the foreseeable future, in the North of England at least that is not a happy prospect.
