In Iraq with the type of targets around certainly attack helicopters, in many cases looking back to upgraded WW2 type aircraft would probably be more than adequate to deal with the soft skinned vehicles being targeted, but of course more substantial targets would need the hitting power of modern aircraft, the problem is, if you’re not careful you finish up with a mix of aircraft which can’t work together.
As others have already stated it doesn’t just affect you, does it?
Some one will have the job of getting you out of your vehicle possibly using every ounce of their skills and knowledge just to keep you in the land of the living.
Deal, you can have free choice as to whether you wear a seat belt or not, insurance companies and the state have free choice as to whether they fund your time of work or subsequent injuries.
It’s easy to point the finger at journalists or papers, but idiot MPs like this guy leave themselves open to blackmail, subversion or “persuasion”, no sympathy whatsoever.
That is why there has been a spate of number plate thefts, just stick the plates from a legal vehicle onto anything that runs and off you go.
The DVLA website has crashed evidently as they didnt foresee the demand for road tax payments.
Is it me? Something works well for many decades and then some pen pusher wants to change it without telling anyone how to.
I have been taxing my car on line now for a number of years, why in hell the whole thing should just go belly up this time is beyond me, there is a so called new system which looks remarkably like the old system, but get this, “works faster and smoother giving the customer a much improved experience”, adds at the end, “we welcome feedback as to your experience”, bet the feedback makes interesting reading.
Had the pleasure of seeing both Lancasters fly together in excellent conditions, all that I can say is thanks to all concerned for the opportunity and congratulations on the safe return home to VeRA, damn good job, done well.
Why the need for nit picking? I would reckon that the crews of both planes are very well aware of the capabilities of the aircraft and their own expeience and fly accordingly.
Well the Scots particularly and the Northern Irish and Northern English do pretty well out of Westminster subsidies. And it may have escaped your attention but the whole of the UK is represented at Westminster by several hundred MPs.
You may just find plenty in the North of England who wouldn’t exactly endorse that comment, just to cheer you up many in the North are watching with interest just how much is being promised to Scotland to stay within the UK, Westminster and most of it’s occupants are regarded as being remote and removed from the realities of life and I’m not referring just to Tories.
There is no such thing as “reality television”.
Think there is more reality in such as Dr Who than “reality” TV shows.
True but it would also lose about 12% of its revenue.
Why so much, Scotland accounts for 8.4% of the population of the UK at the moment.
Watching and listening to Alex Salmond on tv today, certainly didn’t impress me, far too many questions which he simply wouldn’t or couldn’t answer, then accuses journalists of an orchestrated campaign against the yes group, simply because they dared to ask the questions.
Looks more and more like a personal power trip than a fully reasoned campaign.

It might just be a fan, but it’s a bloody big heavy lump, especially when the Harrier dispenses with all that cr*p, you would have thought you would been better re engineering the reheated version of the Pegasus that was cancelled. Why reinvent the wheel.Isn’t there also issues that it uses about 30% of the fuel capacity in the hover/ landing mode. And that there are issues with over the deck / landing angles?
Wasn’t the problem with the reheated Pegasus more one of giving the fuselage a bit of a roasting?, I remember reading somewhere that fireproofing the aircraft from the jet eflux added so much weight that the damn thing would be lucky to leave the ground.
Must agree that pre Harrier there were numerous ideas and designs utilising seperate lift engines or fans, all failed miserably, the real fun ones were those which basically consisted of standing the aircraft on its tail and launching rocket style, take offs were interesting, getting them back down even more so.
I ask you, robbing children of their transport to make a statement against the NATO summit, I tell you what, come up here and pick on someone your own size.. 😡
Not making any statement at all, just moronic, brain dead vandalism, what is wrong with thugs these days do they need an excuse for the fact that they are idiots?.
Thanks for the link, never seen that one, perhaps someone should let the Kenyan lad see it before he does himself a serious mischief.
If enough of the electorate vote for Nigel, UKIP will form the next Govt.
Of course John, if enough of the electorate voted for One Direction they would form the next government, now there’s a thought to give every one over the age of twelve nightmares, but almost as likely.
John
I see you have gained one of Cameron’s clowns, fairly unknown, hope for more says Nigel, best thing that could possibly happen————————— for the Labour party.
