Totally agree your post #2, you see we can agree on some things, but I won’t push it.

Would you like your Teddy back? landed in my back garden.
You call my post a juvenile rant, what in hell was your response?
You sound just as programmed as the best communist followers, you have your opinion, but it isn’t sacrosanct you don’t (thank the lord) have any control over other’s thoughts and opinions.

I would never have guessed in a million years, as you can just possibly tell I was not her greatest fan.
In truth I did not suffer from her machinations as many did, but I didn’t like what I saw, remember I am very much a child of the North West, rural Lancashire in fact.

He’s merely keeping up the family traditions.
Would be more believable if they called the Salmon Sterling.
I notice Greenpeace got in on the act, prophesying doom and destruction unless we all ditch the cars, take to public transport, bike or walk.
I am as aware as anyone that vehicles chuck pollutants into the air, but in these prevailing weather conditions it isn’t even entirely our pollution.
It’s all very well lying down pretending sleep, but you have parked your vehicle in a restricted area and as yet have no trace of MOT or valid tax disc.
Kev, to think that your contributions on here are or have been worthless is a particular misnomer, have no wish to pry into anyone’s problems unless they wish it, but would say that this forum is one refuge away from problems even if only to give yourself (or anyone else for that matter) a break.
Hope you still look in and see the posts , best wishes and good luck with whatever the problems you have.
This may not be helpful, but as far as I know the regulation regarding the number of times tenancy can be passed on came into force on April 1st 2012, from your post since that time there has been no succession of tenancy since as you say the present tenancy agreement was signed in 1999.
I know we can’t undo what’s done, but considerng that your father was joint tenant at the time of your mother’s death, surely a new tenancy agreement was not needed and your fathers tenancy was a continuation rather than a new tenancy.
According to the latest figures apparently pay and bonuses is catching up or even higher than inflation, I would presume that this includes all pay and bonuses, with that in mind I would like to see a breakdown showing where the extra earnings are actually going.
What is absolutely certain is that those on low pay, mickey mouse work contracts, forced part time and those in need are seeing none of it, saw on one of the news channels one financial analyst pour liberal quantities of cold water on any triumphalism. In his view, while welcoming any improvement as good news, added the rider that he estimates it will take at least 5 and more likely 10 years before the country as a whole is back to pre-recession levels of income.
I dearly wish to see the punitive, austerity measures dispensed with and some fairness introduced into our society, whether this will ever happen is debatable, what is certain it will never happen with the present gang in power.
I know we will get the usual howls pointing the finger at layabouts and scroungers, but just how big a factor is that? everything we see reported refutes that blatant propaganda completely, just to clarify I worked throughout my working life and have no more time for scroungers than anyone else, but I totally abhor IDS and associated cronies branding all benefit claimants as scivers and scroungers.

I think your 40/60 split on households is a little off track if I remember rightly when that comment was first made it related to the population rather than households, plus of course the comment was made purely to raise the ire of taxpayers creating the feeling that just a few are subsidising the rest.
However let the stats ride for a little and think it through, remember the “60% unproductive” will include all youngsters from birth to finishing education, (with the current state of youth unemployment beyond that for too many) all stay at home mums who bring up and care for their children, all the retired who with the best will in the world will not be contributing more than their pensions, (even though it feels like it at times) add in those unable to work, those in low paid work, plus of course those who are not in work.
Certainly when I was working I contributed more than I took from the system, but within my household when our children were young my wife stayed home to look after them and yes we lived quite well on my income, but even there you had 1 productive person and 3 nonproductive, none of the three were in any way a drain on resources, but it is quite easy to see that a 40/60 split between productive and nonproductive people is probably true.
An image is used to draw attention to an article, nowhere in that article does it attempt to say that this particular child is one of the hungry, granted usual type of publicity used by papers, but that does not render the article fraudulent or wrong in what it says.

Which part of Snafu’s post did you not like?, I am very aware that you won’t share his opinions (or most of mine for that matter) love your shout at calling Snafu an apologist and attempting to show him as a Red Army storm trooper or such like.
Didn’t notice a single logical counter discussion point to support your opinion, simply the usual Tory attack dog rant, incidentally while we are all frantically looking for excuses have your crew settled on the excuse yet for Maria Miller, seemingly her constituents aren’t best pleased better make it quick.
As ditzy grandparents we keep a bike for our little granddaughter to ride when she’s at our house, present bike getting too small, today we found a like new secondhand bike, proper girly bike, the big smile and hugs we got from that little girl will keep both me and my missus smiling for a while.
Tried reading through this lot and becoming bemused, Clarkson is at times a Richard Head, his mouth sadly works quicker than his brain, whether he is rascist or not I simply don’t know, all that we see is the image from tv and the times he manages to put his foot in it up to the armpits.
This strange branding of lefties and righties is total nonsense, yes there are those out there who look to be offended at all manner of innocous events, but this does not mean that morons can be given licence to impose their sense of “humour” on others, simple really, if someone of whatever race, colour or creed is uncomfortable with what others do, then it is reasonable for the offender to take his/her humour elsewhere, to continue is intimidation and incidentally sense of humoour or lack of is not the preserve of left or right wing, having witnessed a Tory politician wander into a working men’s club, his sense of humour lasted all of 5 minutes.
