    Hi James,

Unfortunately not, the grad was quite poor this time and the viewing was not good compared to the direction they were arriving they were virtually past us before you knew they were there.

I hope for better at the end of August for the next Graduation.

    Regards

    Hi tache3,

I was in your position a year ago, i wanted to buy my first digital slr and there were quite a few options available. I read reviews and visited shops to get some hands on and eventually went for the Nikon D50 which i have been very happy with. This was my first slr and i found it very easy to get to grips with. I have since purchase a second hand D70 as i was fed up with having to change lenses all the time. You may find that there are secondhand D50’s out there too. As regards lenses you could get a standard lens as a kit up to 55 or 70mm and something like a Sigma 50-300 or 70-300mm zoom which won’t break the bank. Don’t be put off by the complex look of the cameras just use it and experiment read magazines and the forum is great for asking questions. You’ll soon be taking great photos just enjoy it.

    Regards

    Hi Septic,

I use a Nikon D50 and i bought a secondhand D70 as i got fed up of swapping lenses all the time.

I find they underexpose too but then when i try and compensate i tend to get the opposite which really frustrates me and causes a lot of work afterwards to sort it out.

I’m lucky enough to have an RAF Base on my doorstep so i guess i will have to experiment a lot with different conditions and try and find a balance that works rather than the hit and miss approach there is at the moment.

    Hi, Great shots.

I’ve only recently got into aircraft photography and being in a wheelchair can’t always get into the positions i would like to get the shots i would like but i get by.

Airshows are quite frustrating as i usually end sat in the crowd and when displays start everyone stands up so i’m restricted on the whole to aerial shots or a well judged shot through a gap in the crowd but hey.

I was wondering if you managed to get a shot of the explosion under the canbera bomb run on sunday.

    Cheers

    Tony
