You must have been standing very close to 92fis when the Seafire started up 😉

    Nice shots 🙂

    Regards,

    Dan

So if the other two are at Newark, I wonder what happened to Mig 23 red 50 then. Scouse did you get a peek over the fence?

Also was anyone here at Broughton or Woodford when they were displayed? Also was there anything in the aviation press when these aircraft were first brought into the country?

There is a Mig 23 at Foulness but i can’t remember where that one came from.

Love the second from last shot, apart from the grass growing through the joints in the concrete she looks like she could be sitting on the flightline ready for another mission. Great work with keeping this fine jet in such good condition, Must try and get to Bruntingthorpe soon.

There is an interesting piece in one of the combat reports on the inside of the cover of Airfields of the eighth which mentions a strange B-17 which followed the formation of bombers before turning back towards germany.

    Rochester 1987(?)

Spent the whole day with OFMC 🙂

Lying under ‘434’s wing to shelter from the sun, standing by the cockpit as Peter (something) started it… Health and safety wouldn’t allow it nowadays!
What a great day spent with the Hanna’s and the rest of the crew.

Found out when I got home that the camera I had been clicking away with had no film in it… but the memories are all the more vivid for it!

    Probably Pete Jarvis.

Anything that goes into Mildenhall, some eagles from lakenheath, helicopters and hercules if they use Honington for an exercise and helicopters from Wattisham, Stansted traffic and any warbirds that come this way and RAF jets come over here quite a bit too. But at the moment i can only see my swimming pool which is calling.
