Anyone else spotted the same looking SHAR appearing as set dressing on “Space Cadets” Satellite Show on E4 (follows right after the Channel 4 show). It’s parked up in a a HAS at Lakenheath at the moment for it’s ‘live’ appearances along with what appears to be an ex-Northolt VIP-fit HS125??
Isn’t it Bentwaters.
Nice pic’s Cestrian, I remember seeing the Javelin at West Raynham when i delivered some stuff for the RAF there a few years ago.
Ollie the other Javelin is at Flixton now, Duxford only has one.
What a *rubbish* paint scheme! I know overall black is their house scheme and I’ve no argument with that. But why paint the serial twice and use two completely different pattern roundels?
At least it still survives and hasn’t been scrapped like many other aircraft.
Apparently very little restoration work has been done and it currently has fibre glass props, It is now situated at Midland.
Great news and well done to HHA for their efforts in making it possible to return the Buccaneer to the air once again. It should be an interesting sight on the airshow scene.
Thanks for sharing that AIB, Another great display pilot sadly gone.
Looks nice, well done to all involved.
Its got to be a merlin engined spitfire that has the most beauty. Like this one.
Everyone associates Ray Hanna with the spitfire but he was equally at home in the kittyhawk. I’ll never forget the way he displayed at the early fighter meets at North Weald using the poplar trees to great effect. Anyone got some pictures from then that they could post. His displays remained precise right until the end.
The man was a legend and his displays were the best i’ve ever seen, His display at Duxford in october with Cliff Spink left me in amazed just as the first time i saw him fly did. He will be much missed. This pic is the last time i saw him fly coming into land in MH434, His spitfire. R.I.P Ray.
Nice to know that this one has been saved from the scrapman and gone to a good home.
I think it maybe a Rand KR2 G-BSTL.
When was XR724 last run up, Looks like it is still in reasonable condition.
If they want to bring it let them. I would have thought most people would be glad to see as many B-17’s as possible fly together.
