    Thanks Neal the show was great although quite hazy and the Matadors were awesome. And it is always amazing to see something the size of the chinook being thrown around like that too.

    The decision was made to cut through the runway because it was still outside the wartime boundary of the airfield. At least it remained the full length to get concorde in, The B52 must have been quite a sight coming in over the M11.

    Well spotted Mark12 just been having a look and found a list for an air display at finningley for 1971 and most of the types in the pic’s are on it. Just wondering what the tailfin is under the red arrows though.

    Nice pics. It’s certainly 1980 or before, as the Red Arrows are still equipped with the Folland Gnat. I think I’m right in saying that the team converted to the Hawk in the winter of 1980/81.

    It’s the 1979/80 winter when the reds converted to the Hawk. At a guess i would say the pic’s date from 1977. Nice pic’s though.
