There was a female pilot a few years ago at flying legends who flew B25 grumpy and also flew a formation display in rapides with Hoof proudfoot. Think her name was Elly its on one of the videos of flying legends possibly 97.

For those that still think it has 3 engines try looking on the first page of the memphis belle filming thread at the 2nd picture of kathleen its a similar angle and u can clearly see 2 engines as u should be able to on the picture above if there was 2 on that side. The line that looks like another prop i think may be part of the framework in the back ground. The outer engines are not set back that much on a B17 so i think that rules it out that it is a prop.

I’m not convinced it has got 3 engines i’d go for 2. It looks like there is a ridge in the ground beside the concrete and as the shadow hits it it gives the impression of another engine. I think the angle of the sun makes it look deceiving, just my opinion.

New base housing was built there it used to be a baseball field opposite the running track. It did affect the construction work a little but it was expected to find some remains there anyway so it was allowed for in the schedule.
