I had 6 months working with some archeaologists there, driving a digger scraping off topsoil ended up finding well over 200 anglo saxon graves. One even had a horse buried in a grave with a bloke. Found loads of ammunition and even a piece of aircraft from the war.

Its old people that cause the problems on the road, just the other day some old lady drove down the wrong side of the A14 she almost got wiped out by a lorry

The F-111 is an E model from Upper Heyford. Brings back memories from when i was working on the base for just over six months back in 97. They even had the big breakfast show live there near those aircraft back then.

I happened to be at work one day sitting about 4 or 5 feet away from someone else who had a lighter in his pocket. I had been on my phone at the time and as i pressed the button to end the call his lighter blew up in his pocket. I don’t know if it was just a coincidence or not. And on the subject of phones at flying legends surely the flames that come out of those exhausts when they start up are more of a risk than someone with a mobile.

I remember seeing the T-34 crash at mildenhall think that may have been 1984. Also saw the frecce tricolori crash at mildenhall in about 1979 and then in 1986 saw the vintage pair crash there. Then i saw the vampire crash at biggin hill for me those were my worst airshow experiences

It says on a spitfire survivors website if they were involved in the film but some are a bit vague about there exact role they had, just says used in the film but doesn’t really say if they flew. Several mk16s were involved in various ways

PS853 TE384 TE476 TD248 I believe were flyers and only 2 hurricanes were flyable. Also quite a few spitfires were used like EP120 BM597 MK356 TE356 TB863 were used as spares and static airframes.

Its common knowledge that the 2 brothers that own the lanc wish it to fly again, they said they hope to see it in their lifetime.

One of my best mates got killed in a motorcycle accident a couple of months ago because some idiot was sitting around a blind bend in his car on the phone he was just stopped there my mate had no chance of avoiding him, someone decent like him gets killed then you get all these sick people that rape old women and young children and if they get caught we have to keep them in a nice warm prison getting out early if they behave well. There’s no justice.
