Thanks guys
Last but not least – some new acquisitions – a full set of Exactor controls for the Whitley. These are all airworthy stock and cost quite a lot. Glad I won’t need to buy any more, at least not in this lifetime. This equipment controlled the prop pitch on the Whitley. The early units were unreliable and the fluid inside used to freeze which caused a lot of operational problems. I understand the fluid used was paraffin!

Bob Kirby donated some parts from Whitley P5090 which crashed near Balquidder in November 1940. There are a pair of data plates and the remains of a zipper. The rectangular plate on the left is from the tail plane.

Apologies for the lack of an update for such a long time. What can I say – same old excuse, I was busy at work….! The finishing touches are being put to the front turret which is now coming back together.

What amazing pieces of history. I appreciate the war grave situation, but surely this does not apply to these aircraft. I really hope that some of them can be salvaged and preserved.
The latest offering from a complete amateur… https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BATTLE-OF-BRITAIN-PILOTS-AIR-MINISTRY-1940-UNIFORM-IRVIN-JACKET-HANGER/362256772142?hash=item54582fac2e:g:C3wAAOSwxwVamHEm

Looks promising Ed
Flyingblind – your last gauge is Barracuda. I sent you an email last week but you never replied. Did it come through okay?
Yes, it’s for opening Fairey fasteners. I have one too
Thanks folks. I messaged Dave
I found a wreck of a ki43 in the pacific many years ago that had a yellow leading edge on the wings.
What about the AHB?

I am trying to confirm this throttle part was used in one of the French P40s. It is identical to those used in the French Curtiss Hawk 75s. It would be logical for it to have been carried over to the early P40s as the cockpits were pretty much the same as far as I can see. Can anyone confirm please?
Thank you everyone for your advice. Stan, if you don’t mind looking through your stock that would be great.
