I could scan at high res and let you have both. Or I could loan you my original prints if you are coming to Shoreham?
One is the full side image in Longshot’s link. Interestingly, this was the image on which one of the 25th anniversary of BofB stamps was modelled.
Whatever is easier for you Andy – scans would be great, that way I can’t lose your original.
Would you mind sending them to me at elliott1940@yahoo.com?
Regards

Most likely an FN25 as already stated so my guess would be Wellington. The Whitley had the FN17 which was very similar…

Thanks guys – I’ve seen that second view of the Dornier. These seem to be the only two images in circulation.
I thought that if anyone on here would know about Fox Photos, it would be you Tangmere1940.
Is there any chance I could get some prints made of these Andy? I can get some extras made for you if you like…?
Cheers

That’s helpful – i’ll try and contact Mr Cotter
There was a discussion about the fate of Fox Photos – i’m not sure where though. I think it may have been in the pages of After the Battle magazine, or one of their other publications. Does anyone know at all?
Thanks Clint

I would think a good start would be to get a copy of the units operational record book (or equivalent) during this period. It might give more info including the correct initials and maybe even service numbers…
The national archives should hold the records.
Also, try posting this on the raf commands forum – they are also very knowledgable.

Thanks Rob and everyone else for your replies and messages
I have a lot of new leads to follow up and will look into each one.
Thanks very much
Elliott

I should point out i’m happy to pay for this, but not the £50/hr (+vat) i’m currently being charged…

That’s very sad Cees – I was extremely excited about seeing a complete Hampden cockpit. Don’t the RAFM have drawings you can copy?
Well, you can always start a Whitley cockpit. I have a lot of information and i’m sure I can find some spare parts for you. I just finally got a control column.
You know most of the 4 group crews trained on the Whitley before graduating the the Halifax 🙂
