Slightly smaller Virgin Airbus. A shame they didn’t use metallic paint here!

Excellent! Excellent photos enhanced by perfect light – just stunning! Super clarity as well, the Thomson 757 departure and the Emirates 777 arrival are the pick of the bunch for me!
Thanks crispy and Alan. I did enjoy my flight very much, and glad you like the photos.
Very nicely done Culpano. Both Boeings are nice catches and a nice spot too. I was at Heathrow yesterday though! 😉
Thanks Culpano – just a typical Southend scheme! We’ve got a Burmese Airbus in at the moment as well…
Very nice Culpano – excellently executed as always despite the tricky weather. Excellent to see some old Russian hardware in action too – Southend really can’t compete with that. However we did see VQ-BCK earlier this year!!! 😎
Ha ha thanks Aeropics. Just back from Moscow and didn’t see it 😡 Great movement.
Thanks Culpano and a shame you didn’t catch her in Moscow. Agreed – a very good movement even for Southend. Yakutia have visited a few times – but they tend usually to move when it is dark -so a nice change for once!
Excellent set, brilliant variety of liveries and types – very nice to see a SH360 in action!
Thanks EGTC!
The 727 required a very major maintenance check – and has been in the hangar almost continuously since it arrived – a very big job indeed, and would be excellent to see her fly!
Yes the 146 is ex. Flightline, hasn’t flown since the demise of the airline in December 2008. A few of the ex Flightline birds have found new leases of life as water bombers in the States.
As with the HS748, another one which hasn’t flown for a few years now. Yes, in the livery of Janes Aviation, who were a very short lived cargo operator who tried to fill the gap left by Emerald. It was G-AYIM, but according to the CAA has been de-registered.
Hope this helps!
Thanks Crispy. When the maintenance movements do move, Southend is an excellent place to be.
All gone a bit quiet on the 727 at the moment, the thing hasn’t flown in almost 3 years.
Here’s a few more shots from yesterday, with the Aero Contrctors 737 doing another test flight and the weekly Volotea flight:

Very good sir! The ATR and Germania A319 are especially nice – the 319 caught me out and I missed it when I paid a visit to Manchester last month. You’ve clearly found some nice spots as well – Manchester isn’t too bad at all (forgetting the weather)!
Thanks ~Alan~. RichardC, by738 and Culpano – glad they are of interest.
RichardC – I was at the airport Friday lunchtime, but no photo I’m afraid – I don’t do light aircraft – especially based ones!! I hope you had a nice flight, the weather wasn’t bad, if not a bit hazy.
Thanks a lot glens45 – certainly is nice to be somewhere where everything is new. The nightshots were thanks to a conveniently placed ledge in the terminal!
Thanks Britol_Rob, glad you like them!
Thanks Culpano – agree that the Far East can be very conducive. Was very lucky to get both the Bangladesh 737 and Myammar A320, as photos of aircraft going into very few gates can be got from the Viewing Area at Terminal 1. Almost as good as a week at Southend!
