Thanks for your contribution. I agree with you on all you have said actually. If I am correct, McDonnell only focused more on the military side and Douglas more on the civil side? I will read up on the firms actually and I will reference those aircraft in my Jane’s books. And you mentioned that C-54 is facing the axe? What do you mean?? Are they scrapping them or something? I guess really Douglas was the people who made the plans and things for the MD-10s etc. McDonnell when they merged were still focused on their military side in which is why Boeing has purchased McDonnell Douglas in the first place.

Do you know where I can see any of the MDD aircraft in the UK? I know nearly all of them are in a scrapyard.

I am from Wakefield 🙂 And yeah I would be fully committed to help with their projects in the UK. I think its crucial that we bring back the aviation industry in the UK. Because as you mentioned a lot have gone down hill.

I don’t give up on things you see and I think its crucial the aviation world should have people like me more often. The production of a lot of aircraft has been ended unfortunately. The ones that flied in the sky which were loved has nearly gone and is replaced by the same looking aircraft now. MDD was a very big and loved company and served well in the aviation industry in my opinion. And yes, what did you think of the MDD aircraft? Did you like them?
