Do the airlines decide the type of seats? I remember reading an article about it, but I don’t seem to recall the content.

Doesn’t really bother me, but an aircraft with winglets would be good, so I don’t get bored looking out the window.

I’ve flown A310, 744 and 763 on long haul so far, with 763 being the bottom of the pile. Terrible seats was the main problem.

Grey and grimy winter’s afternoon’s aren’t the best for photography to be honest, unless you are really keen like Lance, and have decent equipment. (lol).

Yep, that’s the main thing, I reckon. I went to MAN last year in grey conditions, and the photos didn’t exactly come out well. However, I made another trip on a glorious sunny day, and the photos came out pretty darn good, so that’s what is affecting them. The equipment I use isn’t exactly top of the range either. Time for a change me thinks!

If you must shoot in grim, grain inducing conditions, then try using a noise reduction filter such as http://www.neatimage.com which will help “smooth” out your images, giving a simulated grain free look.

Ok, well I’ve downloaded that and tried to play around with it, and I don’t have one idea on how to use it. To the uninstall box it goes!

Anyway, thank you Dan and Allen. Help much appreciated.

I’ll play on some of my crappy MAN photos and post the results up here, if there is such a thing in my case.

Thank you very much for that, Dan. I presume you use Photoshop during that process?

    Oh okay.

About sharpening, it really does make the image extremely grainy, which in turn looks very bad. Is there any other technique to make the photo look smoother, to say the least?

Okay, I have tried irfanview and I tried to sharpen an image, but no real luck.

Also, what does crop do? When I tried it, the image was reduced in size. That’s not much use.
