Whilst we are talking “dart herald” as it was first called, I have found a tatty pic of the first four engined (Alvis Leonides) HP3 Herald. I think it flew on 25 August 1955. Keith.

Yes that I have found so very true over the last few months, it seems whatever pics you have stored on your pc, there is always someone who would like to see them ! that I find so very satisfying ! Keith.
By the way Mike, I love your signature (saying thingy) as an electrical engineer, and since first seeing it, I “quote it” frequently ? thank you.
Phew ! got it correct for once, thanks gents, the photo in my previous post was from 10-12 -07, obviously at Dux, I hope that helps the starter of this thread, I just walk around snapping things with no idea what most of the are. Keith.
Nice photos mate, Nice to see another “local” on here, Welcome. Keith.
Come on, Come on, Can’t wait, need to read something of interest.
Sorry getting too excited here ! Thank you. Keith.
Yes you are correct, it is work in progress, note the scaffolding, I was there in December 07, and she looked better than my pic, which I borrowed from the Duxford website, There are two examples of this aircraft existing here at Norwich, one in the museum, and one on the pan, used for towing and parking practise, when I get the time and good weather, I will get some pics of both and post them ! Its nice to see some interest in older brit props. Keith.
Lancman, “Yes absurd amount of money”
So far 22 minutes flight time, £6M ……. £272,727 – 27p per minute !
That must beat any first class ticket ? I so hope it’s not the end ! Keith.
In fact with further research, it the very one preserved at Duxford, but with later colour scheme.

How about an uneducated guess at 1975 ish ???????
Good photo of a somewhat unloved Brit Prop ! Keith.
Well I must just say I am always sad to see any propliner reach the end of it’s usable life, but hey thats life ! we must move on, with less tears. Keith.
Hi, Great photos, didn’t know what went on there, driven past a million times, never looked.
My one small (possibly ignorant) question is, why add the name “Edith Weston” ? Have looked on google earth, and see its a name linked to a nearby village.
The craters in the runways look ….. umm ….. awesome ! Keith.
You are almost correct Newforest, Just looked at REF’spics again and the cessna is SE – LTE. Keith.
Yes nice to see a 337 again, REF i see from your pics the parachuting club must have had an aircraft change overnight, this was there yesterday, although “hooked” on to a “mondeo” trolley acc all day and not flying at all !

Notice the catch / lock, is operated from outside, not aircraft me thinks, first impression is a removable inspection panel from food processing machinery, my weird side says explosion door from 1936 portaloo ? Keith.
