Thanks for that Simfrank, I got to the RoH link, as all crew member names are there, it narrowed down which of the two aircraft lost that night I was looking for ! Now all I would dearly like is a photo of Lancaster 111 ND931 60-H of 582 Sqdn preferably at Little Staughton ? is that too much to ask ? Keith.

Wow ! Thank you, Don Clark, T21 and Peter Clare, you kind people are so resourceful ! I followed some of your links and came up with JB417, almost got there, as I found the complete crew listing from local church records, I can confirm it was indeed ND931 60 – H of 582 Squadron as you so rightly predicted.
My colleauge’s grandfather was in that crew ! he did not know that his wife / partner was pregnant with my colleague’s mother ! This information, I know will help him put some things into place. I know ,he, like myself will be forever grateful for your generous help with this. I await the day when hopefully I can offer similar to your good selves. Thank you Keith Newsome.

Have just been trawling the net, and apparently the museum of berkshire aviation, at Woodley, have (or did in 2000) a large upper fuselage section of G-AMEW / XA265 Marathon …………. Keith.

How about my little theory, when flying in radar controlled airspace, the stealth type aircraft must have a very close chase plane flying the same course and very close ! or they are (allegedly) invisible ! Keith.
