A couple more from the day, localy based ‘yellow helos’ doing their thing in the setting sun …. an excuse to try my newly purchased photobucket pro account …. does it mess up the photos as the free account seemed to ?????

Hi Kev and Moggy ! Yes that aspect of the registration was discussed at length ‘on the fence ‘ at Norwich Saturday morning and many many alternative names for the airframe were proposed …. none of which will be published here !!

Oh OK then …. what about …. bog standard 757 !

Thank you EGTC ! I rather assume the ‘flap’ is just a cover for access to the actual oil level dip stick / oil filler cap area ??

Difficult choice for me also, the freighter was my first ever flight , a school trip from Southend to Selsey Bill and return .. 1955 I think ?
As for the Carvair … Well I lived at Stansted and saw every one of the 19 built there …. most arrived as very sad looking former USAAF C-54’s etc and after what seemed like weeks of work emerged as ‘Carvairs’ … My most enduring memory of those times is of the seemingly endless days they all seemed to spend on the apron doing engine runs ?? after conversion ??

So my vote is for one of each ….. Please !!

Newforest ! :diablo: The answer to both of your questions is ‘I don’t know’ …. most people on the trip seemed to have reasonable questions !! and the little yellow thing ? well I rather think it looks too neat for a Turbi ….. but what do I know as I never read placards ??

A better view for you ….
