Today we have an answer to the continuing changes to the colour scheme of this aircraft ! This virtual ‘Jacobs Coat’ now sports the colours of Nordwind Airlines ! with a ‘taped on’ registration M-ABED ? could this possibly change, yet again, to a VQ-??? registration ? It was still resting at Norwich late this evening, so may depart tomorrow, maybe get a better photo at that time ??
So pack up the postmans tent and we can all go home to our loved ones 😉

Elias Edward.Welcome to the forum, your post is so heartwarming, of all the nice comments about these two photos, yours, with your personal connection, is one of the bonus points …. to bring a smile to the face of a 90 year old gent ! …… priceless …. Thank You.
Keith 🙂
A little jump back ! you missed the DC-10-30 ! Keith 🙂

The”Eh”Team. Thanks for that John, I thought you might like the ‘copter shot !
EGTC. Thank you my friend ! The blimp is not hanging around here ? it left at 11:00hrs today, bound for, I am told, Manchester, to catch the next Norwich City game maybe ??
Newforest. Thank you also …. My theory is … the red things are orange corrugated flexible ducting taking ‘forced’ air from each prop tip into the gondola for cooling ????? And the unit attached below the rear ‘could’ be a simple air conditioning unit ???? would be so nice to hear from somebody who actualy knows ??? good questions though 😉 a very over pixilated crop from a photo below ….. just for you !!
Keith 🙂

Another small update …. mid morning today this aircraft left us for pastures new !
Keith 🙂
taxying on runway for take off.

Quick update on this one !!!!! Having sat on the stand here for 4 days it was pushed into ‘spray one’ mid day today ??? For what we wonder ??
Keith 🙂
Newforest. In my earlier post when it arrived in ArmAvia / CSA colours, it was suggested it would become OM-BTS with Slovakian Airlines !
I have found some info about them by googling Slovakian Airlines but couldnt make a link, the search engine doesnt like the spelling “Slovakian”
edit…. just found that “Slovakian Airlines” have a Facebook page ! showing a lot of images of the paint job and more !
Keith 🙂
From my recent flights on DC-7B N836D, hope these can help ??
Keith 🙂

Very nice, but sad, collection (for those old enough to appreciate) …. but they are still there !! thanks for sharing with us 😉
Keith 🙂
Thanks for that Newforest, I have been reliably informed that it diverted to Norwich because the ILS at Southend was out of use and the crew were not allowed to make a VFR approach ??
Also the Air Berlin registration (D-ABCI) was not taken up ?? So it remains a mystery ?? will the work scheduled for Southend be carried out at Norwich ??? more to the point what, if any, work is involved ?? respray back to Turkish ?? something more minor ?? we await with baited breathe 😉
The aircraft was still at NWI earlier today !!
Keith 🙂
richw_82. A very nice, and important, statement ! I too believe that we are in an era where so many of those “unsung heros” are fading away and are so reluctant to share their history with the world …. it’s annoying ! but maybe understandable ??
A treasure trove of memories is hidden away ! We can only hope that future generations get access to their memoirs and treat them with the respect they deserve ??
Keith 🙂
It pays to never dump a photo ?? Two views of “Spirit of Freedom” at Duxford, look at the tail fin code and wording ?

And compare with the best I can do from the North Weald aircraft (not Biggin James ! )

Two different aircraft I think ?????
Keith 🙂
As David has said restoration is going very well ! photos taken some time ago, so I assume it has progressed ….
Keith 🙂

Would be nice to inspire some more discussion about these two lovely old aircraft, if only I had the money and space …… ? these photos from a couple of years ago …. I assume they are still there …. and still looking for a future ???
Keith 🙂

Nice collection there, seems like Cranfield and Norwich attract the same sort of visitors ….. King Air’s and Citation’s ….. very colourfull thank you for sharing those with us !!
Keith 🙂
