George,
Which patch page do you mean? this one? http://www.bharat-rakshak.com/IAF/Units/Patches/002.html It reads only as “Hawks”
Anyways for the correct info on Squadron Names, Mottos, raising units etc I would recommend to use this page as the referenece http://www.bharat-rakshak.com/IAF/Units/Squadrons.html .

Vayu has the photos of the tails of SB101 and SB102.
24 Squadron is just ‘Hawks’ – possible that errors had come in due to the unofficial patch titles.

I see only one pic (the Wellesly) which one is the other?
I got some interesting pics of the Models of Various versions of Brahmos launchers from Aero India Stall. Ofcourse there was also the actual TEL on display outside the halls.

Nice pics. In the final cut, will we see the watermark moving to the side or other ?
Those are all “In your face” Pics 😀 sorry ..make that “in the aircraft’s face” pics…
Hi Jagan,
Have the rest gone off or are they still manning fort?
BTW: Re comments about Shiv’s pod:
Its design indicates that its intended use is for a dedicated ECM platform. I’d wager that a combination of Tusker and Shiv pods, is the intended fit.
That bit about “integrated with modern avionics” etc which you have written indicates the same as well. To me that indicates that the pod is meant to interface with the standard arch and avionics interfaces which most of the IAF’s frontline and newly inducted a/c use.
Hi Nitin,
IIRC Jai , Rupak , Shiv and Sachin were there for one day.
I left at end of Day Three (as did Vijay, Arun , Sam)
Day Four, Seetal, Kapil, Manoj, Mohan were there.
Day Five (Today) only Kaps, Manoj and Mohan.
Reg the Shiv pod, I am sorry, I lost my notes copied from the board there and was typing that on top of my mind… if i find that diary, I should have more. I do remember another picture of it with HADDRWR or something similar painted on it. I think it was changed to SHIV on the Day two or so.
I should have posted this earlier but was too busy with the rest of the folks at the Air Show. came back today morning so here goes.

We also had a small stall out there , we distributed and sold photos, a Sukhoi-30 print , some books and calenders.
*** Request to other BRF members *** – Guys , please post just the links – do not attach the images here. the BR Server can take the links – and we would like to have an idea as to the amount of traffic the feature attracts. You can ofcourse hotlink the images using the [IMG ] tag into your posts – directly from the BR Server
Thanks a lot in advance
pics from AeroIndia coming in.
Thats SB 040 – Notch up another aircraft from 30 Squadron.
Maybe the Afghans want to start an ‘Afghan Aviation Museum’?
Charley, remember our discussion on Plt Offr AHO Butler, You will find this thread and the photos in it to be of your interest

Added Later: Okay i stumbled on the PIB website just now.. great pics they have.
From India
The fun is in posting pictures that have not been seen before (atleast on the net) so here goes 😀
Okay, one of those have been seen before in thumbnail form..(the Jaisalmer fort one)
Any guestimates as to what altitude these guys are flying? I am assuming about 500-800 feet AGL ?
A question regarding the Il-78’s : Where exactly is the fuel stored inside the aircraft because in the above picture ,it seems they have retained their ramps and are using the aircraft to transport goods and possibly fuel?
There are two or three long cylindrical tanks along the length of the cargo hold. perhaps they were removed for this cargo role?
All is well in india on that front. I am sure no aviaiton collection in Sri Lanka was affected either. Though I would like to know as to how the underwater wrecks on the Sri Lanka Coast line fared. There are atleast a couple of jap aircraft that were in shallow water from what i heard and the Hermes was also ‘divable’. would a Tsunami affect that?
There is one HT-2 which is said to be displayed on the Chennai coast. A very old report. If that was not moved from that location in the last year and a half, I am sure its knocked down by now. There is a Sea Hawk on a Pylon on the Visakhapatnam beach road – luckily the Tsunami waves were shielded by a huge hill called ‘Dolphins’ Nose. anyway I am not sure if the waves had that much power so far up the coast.
