Probably been on before this is a heads up .
So could one describe this as a ‘heads down’ rather than a ‘heads up’? 😀
I was just pulling scooter’s legs. :p
Will that make you a naughty boy?
Go and stand in the naughty corner then. 😉
555 tons (493 tons of structure, 62 tons of equipment). The island was the 452nd lift of nearly 500 lifts involved in the construction.
I found it interesting that the fwd island of the QE weighed in at 700 tonnes and the final stern lift weighed in at over 900 tonnes, both carried out as single lifts!!
I see they have already installed the aft smoking platform 😀
Either that or it’s their swimming access platform and stairs :diablo:
It certainly is moving on though.
We get nothing for many days and then we get many in as many days.
I would really love to see some good panorama shots now, just to get a feel for her look and size.
I wouldnt really call a 65k ton carrier a Super Carrier.
Nothing but semantics.
You might not, but others do!
Regardless of whatever you want to call it, it will still be a very large vessel capable of carrying many aircraft.
Even more so since its in STOVL config 😛
And on that basis If it was a 100kT STOVL vessel?
I love it when people have to try and ‘pidgeon hole’ everything!
I see they are marching on a pace with the build.
Ring T followed by the rudders are also now either installed or being installed.

I am reliably informed that the air-to-air footage of OHB in the Sea Fury was on a cine film shot from one of the waist gunners windows on the B24. 🙂
That’s nice 😉
In the ARC archives there are some photos of the B24 in formation with the BBMF overhead DX.
Indeed there appears to have been a good formation with the B-24 vic leading the Lanc vic.
I’m told there was also an occasion (possibly the same?) where OHB was in formation with the B24 in his Sea Fury and one of the guys was onboard the B24 getting some good close up shots, though sadly I’ve never come across them.
The Sea Fury was indeed in the same formation on the same occasion and was actually on the left and slightly to the rear of the Lanc vic.
I havent seen it mentioned here (I did have a bit of a scan through), It is reported in BBC East news that the F-35 may not now bw based at Marham, but at Lossie instead?
I have seen a further news update that even suggests that the decision could even be influenced depending on whether Scotland votes to become an independant nation from the UK. Hmmmm

Sally-B is on the Shoreham participation list, so I’d take that as they are taking show bookings! 🙂
I’ve also seen reference on another forum that she’s booked for Pardubice in the Czech Rep.
This was a couple days ago, Ike pulled out of here yesterday.
That’s strange, I have a very similar picture which I must have downloaded some year and a half ago with mostly the same ships in it? Strange.
My one shot.
Mark
Actually Mark12, that looks like a 1987 shot showing Thunderbird on the right receiving some attention prior to its flight across the pond and in the background is Mary Alice.
added edit: it made me think that Duxford has felt the weight of no fewer than 9 B-17s on its hallowed ground since becoming a museum.
Sally B
Mary Alice
Thunderbird
Pink Lady
Chateau du Vernuiel
N17W
N3703G
RAFM’s B-17
Liberty Belle
That’s gotta be a pretty impressive list has it not?
So,the footage with RAF hangars in the background is Bassingbourn?
Correct.
The de-icer ring appears to be in place along with the brackets at the foot of each blade bolted to the hub.
