If the chinese offer enough money for the Pakfa the Russian will sell it and there is nothing india can do about it unless it gets a 50% share in the programme which is looking very unlikely. I would be extremely surprised if Russia allowed India to write into a contract concerning a project of such magnitude that India could veto sales.

See, i am speculating on a situation in which Mig Corp is increasingly getting marginalised wrt russian AF & R&D spendings. Thus if we ie GoI forwards a helping hand to mig & provides either half or whole the R&D for the 5gen AC project, it will surely write into contract. It wasnt for no reason did George called china India’s enemy No.1 :D. So i do feel, china wont get even remotely similar AC which GoI pays for R&D. No downgrade version. I am sure that even chinese will do the same, if they decides to get into russian partnership.

With Mig getting displaced by sukhoi as premier russian aviation Co, India should take this opporunity & get their desired their choice & needs 5 gen AC with Mig Corp. As heavier AC will be costly to build & maintain in the long term, single engine AC will be right way to go. Thus we could procure it in larger no.s too. Also if we codevelop 5 gen AC with russian, then atleast this AC could not be sold to chinese.

thats because Zorya was the fUssr’s supplier for marine engines and has a wide range. they also supplied the delhi class engines.

now GE 2500 turbines were procured for P17 ships, but with Russian built ships GE is not a choice.

Will P17 be build in India or we are procuring all 6 or 8 from russians?

How much of an improvement or advancement is P-17 from P-16? Why arent we looking at building bigger destroyers like above 10,000 tons ships in this class?

sounds like a buying opportunity for the worlds most eminent MirageIII user.

Also not forgetting the most superduper rose upgrade done inhouse by eminent scientist & how it will torn apart mirage 2005 😀 😀 😀 .

First things first, both the navies are out of depths in opposition’s turf, ie plan in IOR & IN in SCS. So no way will either navies will risk any assets in each other AoI. Though IN have Viraat & infuture Vickramaditya, still its AEW & ASW system is way short of what it should be. So IN could deploy Mig 29K in SCS but cannot guarantee its safety, though in hypothetical plus point. But same is not true of Plan. So if its stations any MKK in gwadar or burma, it will be virutal sitting ducks to IN & IAF, remebering that IAF bases isnt as far away to either of these geographical areas. So both the navies shouldnt deploy any offensive weapons sys in each others AoI, thus avoiding confrontations.

Atleast AESA & improved thrust engine will see the light of day along with few new bits in avionics, good for future sales.

What i meant by ‘realisation’ is final product being worthwhile & potent, & ‘commercialisation’ means building more of the same ie how many more ATV will be mfg.

i do not think any of the indian subs are big enough or have been modified to vertically launch a ballistic missile

It means that ATV needs to be realised if we have to see dhanush & brahmos to be sub launch missiles. I thats freedom u get when u design & mfg a major weapons system like subs & fighters indegeniously. How much long are we still from actual realisation & then commercial production of ATV, 5-7 yrs or more than that?

yup thats a good one too and thats y my take is for the M-MRCA, demand the JSF from the Yanks …. rather than begging for the older stuffs …

India isnt begging to anyone for anything. We are giving top dollar & getting the stuff. Update urself on that.

I too agree with u that getting JSF is much better for IAF & IN than either of F18 or F16.
