After a few engine runs on the eastern apron this morning, Sea Fury WG655 taxied out in some thoroughly miserable weather, presumably to the tie-downs for some high power engine runs.

Brian
I was flying the Classic Wings Tiger on Wed. Nice picture Brian. I did wave DCW …
I find that the aspect ratio of some images gets distorted when a post appears as the first item on the page, I’m guessing because of the placement of the adverts?
Many thanks for those leads which have been very useful.
I was just copying the guy standing next to me 😮
Oh well, since I seem to have failed to sell this to any of the tabloids or lad’s mags, here it is. This appeared in a field between Caldecote and Hardwick, Cambs. – inside EGSN’s 18/36 circuit.
G-ASML used to be a regular at the Granite City Air Rally in Aberdeen. Sadly this event was killed off by the BAA and hasn’t happened since 1997.
Barbara Schlussler used to fly it up from Fenland, non-radio, stopping off somewhere short of EGPD’s Class D to phone ahead and get her zone clearance.
On one occasion, she was departing home in fairly windy conditions. I was one of the wing-walkers that helped her out to the holding point, ready for departure. To save the hastle of light-signals from the tower, I used a hand-held radio as we walked her out.
Tower controller was having a busy day, and without thinking said “Can you tell G-ASML to squawk 1234”
Doh …
How about these …
Nice!!! Where were you, we should have waved!
In the back garden of a holiday cottage near Stow.
You were a bit high for my lens to get a decent image …
Spotted you from the ground …
In the queue for the flightline walk – Essex man points at nearby Rapide & says to his mate : “They’re still using them up in Scotland – Scottish Airways I think …”
I got a few pics …
