CWL – NCL would be a good one for WOW, twice daily. It worked well for 6G!

It is true though. I am a business traveller and normally fly from NCL – LGW or LCY when needing to be in our London office. I have decided to cancel my flight for Monday and take train instead, mainly so I can get some work done as I travel. If it continues and people can’t have laptops and mobiles (before boarding) I think many business travellers will move to the train, where practical.

They have now updated their website so it looks like they are drip feeding information. Still no news on routes though.

I am still surprised T3 don’t put a NCL – MAN service on.

I’ve flown with 6G several times to mainly PLH but to CWL as well on business. It’s a real shame that there will be no operator through to PLH from NCL now. When I flew down two weeks ago the CWL-PLH sector was about 50% full – which wasn’t bad for a Wednesday night – the tickets are rarely that cheap either!

I can’t understand their strategy though. They announced BRU and BHD from CWL but both leave before the PLH flight got into CWL. Surely it would have been better to make the PLH-CWL flight earlier so it arrived in time for more connecting pax – but that would be stating the obvious!

Oh well, leaves room for WOW to play the game. PLH-NQY-NCL would be a good one or maybe PLH/NQY-BRS-MAN-NCL but that’ll probably take too long! Wishful thinking!

    6G852 CWL – NCL 1200-1310
    6G853 NCL – CWL 1650-1800
    6G854 CWL – NCL 1740-1850
    6G855 NCL – CWL 1920-2030

I though the CWL-NCL route was a good one for 6G. Though the timings were always bad for me going from NCL-CWL I’ve always flown EZY to BRS then got a car. At least I can be there and back in a day doing that!

I’ve just spoke to the airport as I was freezing in the car waiting for my friend to arrive from LGW! They said the snow tonight had been unexpected and they’d just got the snowploughs out, then they had to put anti-freeze on the runway so I’ve come home to warm up and am just monitoring the NCL arrivals board!

I live 4 miles from airport and no snow yet! However Wales, the SW and Scotland have all had bad weather today according to the BBC.

And with the new route from NCL – Oslo being announced I think this adds fuel to the speculation that NCL is most likely to become a base though NCL have a lot of work to do before next summer if this is the case.

If FR do base even 2 aircraft in summer 06, with the charter flights, the additional rumoured EZY aircraft and an overnight VLM plane (also rumoured to be doing a NCL – LCY route) we will have no overnight stands left at all! This would also mean there could be no charter expansion for next summer.

Hopefully this has all been thought through and NCL will surprise us with new stands being built fairly quickly.

Maybe this TRP route is the beginning of further route expansion from NCL for FR! There are also rumours that a service to NYO (Stockholm) will be launched soon by FR.

Besides, if they started flying from MME they’d have to call in Newcastle South anyway and NCL will be Edinburgh South!
