sad to say
The reason fires in collections dont hit big news because unlike a airshow crash they are not normally such a shocking or gory thing as a plane crash, modern news runs on shock horror violence and alike so they enjoy it and it sells.Every large colection is at risk from fire more than crashes.
oh my god
cant believe there been another crash my sympathies to pilots family what a awful years for CAF and airshows in general
would say
Legends but saw firefly crash so its hard to say that Biggin Hill was entertaining this year and Eastbourne was fun Highlight is for me the La9 and every brietling show i saw then 4 times the 3spitfire and corsair at Biggin a particular fav,its nice to see that both aircraft restoration and fighter collection helped them when they were aircraft down.Twlight tear made a great sub for ofmcs own p51 at dx autumn show.
i think
we should be positive theres many projects to come through and maybe mossie may fly here again if caa lost its inhibitions we could see rare aircraft making it to fly its great to see many spits or p51s but as duxfords autumn airshow showed the biggest attraction was la9 and brietling team the scene needs to pick up a bit and maybe it will soon, just wish we didnt lose rare things like firefly p38,p63,mossie etc and there crews .
the problem with most musuems is
the collection maybe great but it does little to involve the visitor,as a kid i hated such trips but did intrest me seeing planes hung as i did models and saw as it as big boys version 😀 ,to make it work i think need give info on aircraft show video footage and get some interaction.most of duxford works because you can see aircraft fly there amoung the statics hendon for me had some great aircraft but no vision and was too dark cramped etc as others mention, lets make musuems less dust gathering places more places people enjoy and learn
so conclusion make it informative bright not too cramped
thought
caa was run by aliens in suits who not know there a*** from there elbow
b25
is Grumpy going to fly in near future?
warbirds best years
i agree 94,96 were best but we had no La9 then the b25 at duxford was amazing
like the idea
of doing a thread for each year of the 80s and look forward to seeing what comes up,i will start it with 1980 itself, sadly have no pics though
Will we ever see one
Fly in the uk again?,what is current rules on this? With the Seavixen flying surely its possible now
great
would love to see them
oh to be
in the back seat of anything Rays is flying
all of
2 3 and 4 depending on type of show, after all at legends be good to see is as a trainer with harvard, but somewhere like Biggin Hill be great to see it with pyros and a spit on its tail,We aint got a Me109 or buchon so a 108 is next best thing eh,ps good luck cant wait to see it
Knew
it would be difficult and know hunters, venoms ect will mostly be original more intrested in world war 2 originals as it were
feel
myself catching it already:D
