From what I have seen of Jeremy Corbyn it seems the press have a smear campaign, the Tory party have a smear campaign and oddly his own party the Labour party have a smear campaign. Which all in all does not really help his position in terms of being elected PM in the future, but it kind of plays in his favour now it makes him a bit anti establishment and a bit different from the rest. Top that with the fact he certainly appears to be a man of principles and a man of his word it escalates him above others and whether by intent or otherwise I can honestly say I know nothing about any of the other candidates for Labour leader, they have all blended into the background.

The questions I am asking are
    1) Will he be good for the Labour party? Not if they want to get elected in 2020
    2) Will he be a good rival to David Cameron before 2020? I think so yes as will actually oppose things and maybe get a few Tory rebels on side too
    3) Will Labour rebuild behind him? Doubtful with all the infighting
    4) Will he help the country? If never in power he probably will be a voice of reason and that’s not a bad thing

Ultimately in a General Election against Boris Johnson who knows how to play an audience and will have the press onside I doubt Jeremy Corbyn will have a chance, however none of the other Labour candidates show any metal and would all get run over by the Boris bandwagon before they could blink an eye.

All I know is I want a change in politics but I am fairly sure its not going back to the 1970’s but until a better option comes along I am willing to give Corbyn a go.

I have always assumed that whenever the CAA withdraw permit to fly on a aircraft type they have noticed something of concern, either in the design or how the aircraft is operated. Whilst I agree the CAA had to be seen doing something in the eyes of the public and the dog we call the media, I think this was not to appease them.

In this case I am guessing it has been done for civilian Hunters as a precaution and to allow for investigations to see if past incidents and accidents have any baring on the latest accident, clearly aircraft on military contacts are seen differently and that could be for any number of reasons from how they are operated , hours flown, fatigue on airframes Etc, Etc

Yet again it’s not for us to speculate, but I do hope at the end of this we will still see Hunters and other vintage jets operating at UK air displays as well as answers to the tragic events at Shoreham.

This is a typical story from two of the worst newspapers out there, lets be honest they probably went to Clacton and Dunsfold hoping that another accident would happen and they could claim airshows are so dangerous and everyone is going to get killed by them. When nothing untoward happened they chose to have an attack on Sally B, because she is an old aircraft.

The press have a bee in their bonnet at the moment after Shoreham and seem determined to kill off airshows, and despite the lies we all know that certain Newspapers have influence over those who do not free think. However it does feel normal services are resuming now as latest front pages seem to be back to immigration and Jeremy Corbyn bashing, I no longer buy any newspapers and feel utter contempt for them for how they have treated the Shoreham incident and the victims families, it’s sickening.

I am delighted to see that the Telegraph has published a piece by James Kightly (jdk).

    You can find it here:

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/aviation/11822440/Shoreham-air-crash-how-safe-are-British-air-shows.html

It is an abbreviated version of his blog that he linked to on Sunday.

It’s great to see a view like this getting published along with the hype and tripe the press have created since Saturday.

OK so this sh**y rag has found another target to attack and try and get the “masses” to hate, the Labour party and immigrants will get left alone for a day or two until this story becomes chipshop paper. This paper has no moral value and would probably be campaigning for completely the opposite sometime in the future.

The fact is the press have spoke and quoted very many people, many of whom did not witness the accident and others who did will probably find their words are misrepresented. When I am reading things like “Pilot made a lunatic manoeuvre” Etc, none of that tallies with what I saw or my opinion of what happened, the media hype/storm will die down soon and all the half stories and in some cases damn right lies printed all all become part of history, sad thing is none of this is helping the families of those killed.

The CAA have done the right thing by putting in temporary restrictions and allowing time for full investigations, they needed to be seen doing something and this to be honest will I hope allow enough time for things to calm down and investigations to find answers, its a sad time.

I think that the CAA have done the sensible thing in what is a horrible time for so many. Despite still feeling a bit shook up and very saddened after what I experienced on Saturday, I still have a huge love for historic aircraft and Airshows and do not want to see them killed off by a knee jerk reaction.
This hopefully will allow time for investigations of both the Gnat and Hunter accidents and appease the press until they have another horror story to follow, or in the case of a few of them a nice terror or made up weather story then all this with Shoreham will be chip papers.

I am not being flippant or disrespectful to anyone and I feel so much for the families of those killed and the media storm they find themselves in at this tragic time I hope that somehow the pilot can recover and I hope that answers to all what happened will be found soon.

After a nights “sleep” I still can’t get the events of yesterday out of my mind, and still cannot believe that so many people have died at a UK event. It’s like all the worst nightmares came together and created the perfect storm.
I know a lot of armchair experts are giving opinions on what may of happened and why and even myself found the Hunter routine to have been different from what had previously seen many times before. I can’t and won’t explain what I mean it was just different.
I think we all know that this will be a game changer in terms of future airshows and air displays, but quite frankly that is something for the future and my only worry is for those hurt and the families of those killed at the moment.
I have been going to Shoreham since 2002 and love the place, it’s a beautiful venue organised by a great team and always has a great crowd, it’s a dark day for Shoreham and airshows in general.

So glad to hear Dan Griffith is OK , living close to Biggin Hill we see and hear Spitfires and the occasional Hurricane regularly and I am sure MK912 will be flying again sometime in the future, even if she isn’t at the end of the day Dan lives to fly another day and that’s the main thing.
This is a good news story compared to the tragic events at Car Fest.

I feel certain that freedom of speech has been allowed to die a long time ago, and I have always been of the opinion that you should have the right to say anything, as long as anyone else has the right to also to challenge your opinion. I understand some things people say can be truly vulgar and disgusting, but censorship by the PC brigade now means we often do not know who these people with such vulgar opinions are. It doesn’t stop them thinking it though or airing it in private, so in reality PC is pushing the worst of opinions under the carpet and hiding the truth.
Racism, sexism,Etc don’t go away just because the PC brigade censor what is said and I wonder often if such things thrive because they become taboo. One day people may realise that allowing somebody to say what they want is not necessarily agreeing with what they say or promoting it, but it is allowing for debate. Working on the theory that I may totally hate and be disgusted by what you have to say, but I still totally defend your right to say it.

Always strikes me as odd that we are offended by words, yet we do nothing to stop killing and suffering of fellow humans. I personally feel more offended by death and suffering of others than any words I have ever heard or read. We are now at a stage where we are to scared to say anything in case it offends someone( or someone gets offended on their behalf), its beyond crazy.

Brilliant show 🙂 Paul Bonhomme and Steve Jones in the Spitfires won the show for me ! Close formation (like Glue) Fantastic .

They were simply stunning to watch, I had the same goose bumps I used to get seeing Ray Hanna close a Biggin Hill airshow
