He is just doing it to become PM…
The opportunist that he is has come to the decision that if he is in the out camp, and Cameron loses the stay in vote, then he must be a shoo in for the new leader. Being the devious fiend* that he is, when the talks take place for leaving the EU, he will engineer some way of getting an acceptable solution to staying in – and we won’t be going anywhere. Why should the country trust him when his wife can’t…?

*BoJo has a well-earned reputation for being underhand, a cheat and a liar when it suits his purpose, a man whom a biographer, Sonia Purnell, claims has an “opportunistic approach to politics“.

The world is a little less interesting tonight, the living history available to us has dropped dramatically but his memory will live on.

‘JOKOROZAZA Army Air Base. In the air education hall are exhibited
    Fiat BR20
    Fairchild FC22C-7b
    Kellett K-19 autogyro
    Pou de Ciel
    Maurice Farman 1-15
    Henri Farman
    Farman F-60 Goliath
    Nieuport 18E2
    hanriot HD-14
    Hanriot 15
    Hanriot 19
    Spad 20
    Spad 54
    Salmson 2A2
    Nieuport 39
    Junkers G38
    JU87
    Heinkel 118
    Spartan Executive’

I would imagine that there could be a mistake of some sort in translation; maybe this was a list of some of the foreign aircraft that had been used in Japan, or a list of recovered parts or relics rather than intact airframes? For example Japan only received one Ju87A1, which apparently survived until near the end of the war, only to be destroyed in an air raid, and most (if not all – sources disagree on numbers received as well as number lost through action and accidents) of the 82-85 Fiat BR20Ms exported to Japan were lost in action in China…

It wasn’t a joke, rather an observation as borne out by recent events…It was in all the papers.

I’m disappointed you’d accuse someone you don’t know of making a joke on the subject whereas the accusations against Assang are well known.

Oh. Well, thats alright then. I assumed it was a joke made at the expense of, for example, Saville’s victims (or even the alleged victims of Assang) when in fact you weren’t making a joke at all – surprisingly you were serious.

Ok, so what job would you propose for him? Consider that Assang has not been convicted, is merely accused although his manner of avoiding the law has not done the principle of being innocent until proven guilty any favours, and the fact that the sex offenders you are probably referring to were all employed BEFORE their crimes were discovered makes your observation rather fatuous.

Glad to see you’re the typical Fox hater, They’re always so fair and objective.

Fox News, fair and objective? If you are of the correct sex, religion, social demographic, sexual inclination, race, political viewpoint, age, nationality even – then they are fair and objective. Otherwise – forget it: you only have to look at the many websites that point out where their presenters and guests have put their feet metaphorically in their mouths to see that the Fox News agenda is to tell right wing America what it wants to hear in the face of truth and honesty.

Guess we can see which side of the political spectrum you inhabit.

If he’s been accused of sexual assault, surely that would put him in line for a well paying job at the BBC.

And if he’d was a right wing misogynistic bigot, with barely disguised racist views, would that make him suitable for the role of a talking head on Fox News or should he just run for president instead?

If you truly believe that sexual assault is a subject to be joked about then you are a damned fool who everyone should pity; as it is just grow up and leave the talking to the adults.

    Flight lists the following
Be2c ‘ defense of London aircraft’
    Culleys Camel N6812 at Lambeth
Short Seaplane from Battle of Jutland (remains now at Yeovilton)
    Parnall Panther ( carrier fighter)
    Norman-Thompson shown above
    Friedrichshafen G.II (alrge bomber)
    Roland DVII (sleek fighter)
‘remains of a Junkers all metal bi-plane’ (junkers J1?)
    RE8
    Sopwith Salamander
Sopwith Triplane (not the one at Hendon)
    Bristol Fighter

Some of these appear to have survived, some didn’t.
Is there something you’ve seen (or maybe you were there…;0)) that makes you believe that the Triplane isn’t the one in the RAFM? N5912 was on display at the IWM until 1924, being acquired by the RAF (and flown by them!) in 1936.
The Parnell Panther would be a new type on display, having been introduced in 1919, with the Sopwith Salamander (although a relatively new type, from 1918, a lame duck with structural problems) being out of service by 1922, so these might have been taken either before or after service use and (eventually) scrapped. The NT2 appears to have been exported.

Other (lousy) pictures from that Flight article:

As a child I wondered how the Crystal Palace made from glass and cast iron could burn down. Seeing that photo I now understand. Is that really a hydrogen filled kite balloon hiding in the beams above the Curtiss Baby?

Where is the Curtiss Baby – hiding in all the foliage behind the Norman Thompson NT2 in the foreground…? ;o)

It looks to me to be marked N2285, which is just listed as ‘exported’ although others in the batch went to Norway, Peru, Japan and the ‘Esthonian’ Air Force in Air Britain’s Royal Navy Aircraft Serials and Units 1911-1919.

Wow – how many gardeners did they under employ?

And the wreck in your second picture appears to be the Short 184; what happened to leave it as just the c0ckpit and engine section?

    Re 48

That’s nonsense – even by your abysmal standards

Which part – your abysmal reply just paints the whole post without actually pointing out which part does not fit with your narrow world view, but let us examine it anyway.

Does this case involve weapons and a convicted killer? Yes. As I said, manslaughter is still a killing conviction, and there was a weapon involved.
Does Martin have previous? Of course – hence the interest in this event.
Did he make claims about possession of a weapon? That was what got the police involved and what was confiscated from him. Whether he was forbidden from possessing an air weapon (possibly not in working order – who knows?) as part of his conviction I do not know, but he has had an illegal weapon in the past.
Should he have been detained? No. Of course not… The police should never have followed up on the report and should have left him in peace. After all, it’s not like he has a history of involvement with guns or of using them in an illegal manner, is it?
John’s dream world? Ah, maybe this is the nonsense he is abysmally referring to…
