the pictures i have seen showed MiG-23MS and a MiG-23UB, i have not seen pictures of the MiG-23BN buit i do not remember if they ever got that variant for sure MiG-23MS and MiG-23UB

its no secret that china managaed to obtain a flogger or two from egypt during the cold war (i think the plane/s are now sitting on the deck of the minsk) and some of the flogger’s best design features were either lifted onto the J8II, or were the insperation behind some of the modifcations to the orignal J8I.

China got more than two i think were like 6 or 8 MiG-23MS the number that China Got.

inlets, cockpit windshild , barreled cannon Gsh23 and ventral fin are direct copies and reversed engineered features taken directly from the MiG-23

    HELLO

This Mexican wish has been around since the ZEDILLO goberment, the Antonov plant its suposse to be at CIUDAD SAHAGUN in the state of HIDALGO, just north of the MEXICAN capital where there used to be a truck factory named DINA.
The Mexican atoroties have put a lot of pressure to UKRAINE and RUSSIA it self, not only in putting an ANTONOV factory (THE ARMED FORCES HAVE 10 AN-32 IN SERVICE) but also a MIL maintenance shop, so it can provide a full maintenance for the more than 60 MIL helos in the country( Mexican uses MI-2, MI-8, MI-17 and MI-26)
There is allready a MIL maintenance facility at the MEXICAN NAVY LAS BAJADAS AIR STATION. It is to mention that the MEXICAN navy MIL fleet has not losse a single machine in accidents in almost 6 years of service(24 on strengt).
We can not say this as for the MEXICAN AIR FORCE since the MIL fleet has one of the highest level of accidents of the hole fleet( in paper 40 MIL 8/17 in service but half of it are on service)this led MEXICAN AIR FORCE to sell its 4 MIL MI-2 that where on sevice this year.

So this is good news and we hope to see some MIL MI-24 HINDS in the MEXICAN SKYES soon.

    saludos.

This is the same news but fron the Antonov official webpage.

seems like both parties have reached an agreement for the manufacture of Antonov aircraft in Mexico.

Very likely the AN-32 will be built in Mexico but the manufacture of An-140 parts was also discussed according to some news sources in spanish

quit impressive specially when we think those F-16I will launch the Python V and Rafael Derby equalizing even the Su-30MKI or the Chinese J-10s agility to an older fighter like the F-16 with less advanced aerodynamics and engines

The F-15I and F-16I (Block 52+) have more advanced systems than Greece’s Block 52+’s.

so do you think Israel`s F-16I might be the most advanced Vipers in the world?
I have no knowledge of them i thought the latest block of Greece might be almost equally good

Anyway, most of the Indian Air Force planes went for upgrades in Israel or got Israeli systems from the beginning, so I don’t think there would be some kind of problem in beating them.

I agree, in avionics Israel has good prestige, and in 4 generation fighter avionics or Air to air weaponry no air force has achieved parity with Israel in Dogfight at least in paper.

The only aircraft i consider beyond Israel capabilities is the F-22 and later the F-35; the Eurofighter might be more than what Israel can digest in 2009 but still i guess the F-16I still could beat them even it is quit difficult, but MiG-29s, Su-27s, MiG-31, J-10, LCA and FC-1 and others got to be pretty even with Israel`s current fleet of fighters.

Versus exported F-16s or F-15s none are as good as the Israeli F-16 and F-15 except Greece`s F-16s

You are right about that, yet the question is whether the IDF/AF could face the numeric superiority of these countries.
Up until now, it handled a few Arab countries that fought against us together, but still they weren’t in the size of the US/Russia/China airforces. Not to mention the fact that each of these airforces has better trained pilots than the average Arab state. When it comes to the US and Russia, they also got good fighter jets.

Israel has a good airforce, but as I said before, it is designed to face regional threats, such as Syria and Iran. Comparing it in a full scale war scenario with airforces of the US and other major global powers just doesn’t make much sense.

I think Israel would be a winner in quality versus the US. Europe , India, China or Russia but it can not last long versus any of them in quantity at the long run.

Nevertheless versus the decaying Russian air Force or the the modernizing Chinese PLAAF and Indian Air Force i consider Israel can beat them because none of these power will deploy their crappy and old jets close to the Israeli border, they need their Su-27s, MiG-29s,Mirage 2000. LCA, J-10, J-8II, MiG-31 or SU-24 but not MiG-19 or MiG-23

F-22 is the best looking of all the modern ones,

    MiG-29 and F-14 of all the 1970s, 1980s and 1970s.

in the 1960s well the F-4 and MiG-23.

In the 1950s only the A-4 and Mirage III

    from the 1940s well the Me-262, He-162 and P-51.

I only see expeculation about the SD-12, is there any proof that the head SD-12`s seeker is the AA-12 Adder`s? i mean a reliable source? deny it or confirm it does not proof any thing, there is nothing marvelous about an old missile like the AA-12 Adder that can not be sell niether is an impossibility the Russians would not sell the technology, the AA-12 is not top notch the Meteor is, a laser gun too.

all these especulation are simply smoke, Russia will sell that technology very likely, if it has happened well we need a proof do we have it?

Quit interesting to see the chief designer of the Jaguar was hired by the team lead by Dr Kenji Ikeda! i wonder in what he helped as purely an assistant and advicer to the overall project or giving the blue prints in order to design the F-1.
What is this X guy`s name?

I couldn’t get your last link to work so here’s a different one.

    http://www.airliners.net/open.file/762072/M/

Did you take these pictures? I guess I’m missing the point unless you just want to praise the -145 which I can’t blame you for. 😉

i did not but i really like those wonderful jets, there is no more beautiful jet for me made by Boeing than the Boeing 757 and the Embraer ERJ-145 is not bad looking either, the aeromexico`s livery is quit colorful.

In Mexico it seems there is little need for intercontinental aircraft, there has never been any Boeing 747 or Airbus 340 as in South america, people relatively seldom flies so small jets with cheap price to operate and purchase are well in demand

    Aeromexico Boeing 757 nice picture

Boeing and Japan Airlines Confirm Order for Six 767-300ERs

(Source: Boeing Co.; issued June 30, 2005)

SEATTLE — The Boeing Company and Japan Airlines (JAL) today confirmed an order by JAL for six new Boeing 767-300ER airplanes, valued at approximately $800 million at list prices.

The airline will receive three freighters and three passenger models. Deliveries will begin in 2007 and run through early 2008. It is the first time JAL has ordered the 767-300ER Freighter.

“Boeing and Japan Airlines have a very special relationship, based on long-time mutual knowledge and trust,” said Boeing Commercial Airplanes Vice President of Sales Larry Dickenson. “These 767 models provide excellent efficiency and reliability for JAL’s regional routes. We are proud to be JAL’s partner.”

General Electric CF6-80C2 high-bypass turbofan engines will power the new airplanes. With this order, Japan Airlines’ 767 commitments total 46 airplanes.

The 767 offers superior reliability and low operating cost per trip. Boeing has delivered 930 767s that are flown by more than 100 operators worldwide. The 767 family has accumulated more than 10 million flights and carried millions of passengers.

The 767 Freighter is the only 60-ton freighter with international capability and can accommodate a combined maximum payload capability of 16,034 feet 3 (454 cu m). At its 60.5-ton (54.88 metric ton) maximum payload, the 767 Freighter has a range of 3,270 nautical miles (6,056 km). When carrying 50 tons (45.4 metric tons), the 767 Freighter has a range of 4,255 nautical miles (7,880 km).

As of June 1, 2005, JAL serves 208 airports in 35 countries with approximately 28 0 airplanes, including Boeing 747, 777, 767 and 737 models.

JAL has also ordered 30 Boeing 787 Dreamliners and 30 Next-Generation 737-800 passenger airplanes.

Japan is a good partner for the Boeing B-767 i have flown in ANA`s Boeing 767 from Hokkaido to Tokio, a really beautiful aircraft
