A very nice detailed, high quality model. Full marks on the colour scheme as well, absolutely brilliant.

ZA947 (Dak) was also seen over Southwell, Nottinghamshire at about 1120

Looking at the article’s picture, the plane looks intact, but not in the best of shape…

When the aircraft was restored, some corrosion was discovered in that area of the structure -the only way of removing it was by cutting the skin panels in that area for work to be carried out. When finished, that part of the plane was repainted.

The loss of the Vulcan on the circuit would be huge. Another old graceful jet gone, not to mention whether we will ever see the Sea Vixen flying again?
Look on the bright side though, I’m sure no Vulcan would free up funds for RIAT to have yet another F16, another F18 and another stunt/display team.
    QUOTE]

Not strictly true, I seem to recall that RIAT get all the military assets free of charge, and that the Vulcan pretty much exhausted the budget this year (hence, no Sea Vixen display)

Yeah, fingers crossed for TFC fully airworthy in 2010 – is any progress being made on this?

I’m sure the organisers would love all those warbirds – however I don’t think that there’s enough flying display space to fit them all in!
