It is a very good site – one of the guys is a member on here, and has used some of my photo’s of the Valiant and B-24 at Cosford recently.

    ollieholmes,
I believe it did until just a few years ago. It now resides in one of the hangers on the hill away from the air-strip.
Most of the aircraft in these hangers have flown at Old Rhinebeck, but are currently awaiting parts, restoration, etc.

The second photo makes it look like a hawk about to pounce on something !!
    Bizarre idea for a transport.
Nice to see one in action after seeing the one at Dayton.

    Thanks for those GlynRamsden

I flew in her back at the last open day in April, and agree, she is wonderful. The sort of aircraft I could quite happily bimble around the countryside in all day long!

Missed out on a flight in the Devon this time around, but my names down already for next year !

This is my last lot now (unless anyone requests anything specific!).
A few of the aircraft that are outside.
There is also a huge memorial garden at the far end of the museum, which unfortunately I did not get time to walk around, but some of the monuments are incredible, and very well looked after.
I would recommend the museum to anyone, but give yourself at least 3 days, and be prepared for tired feet at the end of it ! 😀

My next destination was Reno, which I will post some shots on the airshow photo’s forum, but in between I did find something interesting hiding inside one of the airports – I will post a couple of pics (hopefully) tomorrow, on a seperate thread.

    Regards,

Thanks for the comments regarding my photos guys, appreciated. 🙂

This is the start of the last lot now, some of the final hall. Again very dark, but impressively lit aircraft, which made the hall very atmospheric.

I took nearly 700 photos and spent two days in the museum, but I feel like I only scratched the surface! Didn’t get hardly any time to look at the others displays, but I suppose that gives me an excuse to go back at some time!! 😀

    Your wish is granted 😀

I missed this Spit by about a week when it was restored at Dux. so it was great to finally catch up with it.
