Well, thats put a smile on my face for the next 3 months anyway !
OK, he’s getting the publicity, but – Thanks Sir Richard !
Judge for yourselves guys…..
Thanks for the link Dave, she does look great, and appears to have come on a very long way since I saw her tucked up the corner in the restoration hanger just 15 months ago!
Well done to all involved for their hard work so far.
Thanks Papa Lima – must go and dig out my pics of the East Midlands Varsity, but it looks to be the favourite at the moment.
Thanks guys
TMN
Very clean !
And a stark contrast to the previous colours!
Can’t wait to see her for real.
I am told that Varsity’s did operate from Cardiff when it was an RAF station, so that may be correct Rlangham, but wondered if anyone could confirm that is what it came from.
Cheers Bisfit – even better when you can see the wings!
I’ll have to keep a look out for that ‘Moth – one of the best schemes I’ve seen for a while.
Thanks,
TMN
Cheers Bisfit
The red and silver Tiger Moth is beautiful – haven’t seen that one before.
Just hope the weather is better next year !
Superb air to airs.
Thanks for posting
and just a few more……
The arrival of Air Atlantiques Dak, Pembroke and Anson in formation during the morning was a nice touch – thanks guys. Pity my photo of it was three dark outlines against a grey sky!
Thanks also to everyone else who ventured through the weather. This was my first G-VFWE, and although I hear it was well down on previous years, I still enjoyed it 🙂
The sun DID shine for a while yesterday, luckily just in time for the ‘walkabout’ around the aircraft.
Wind got up a bit later, a quite a few aircraft departed just before the weather worsened, as did I, and ran through quite a thunderstorm by the time I got near to Kemble.
Few pics anyway…… 😉
…. and finally, when back in the UK, Capel La Ferne.
(Unfortunately the bad weather had caught up with me by now, so I didn’t risk the camera taking a photo of the main memorial).
Hope you have enjoyed my photo’s, I know I enjoyed the trip ! 🙂 😉 😀
While travelling back home on the Monday, I decided to stop off at the memorials on each side of the channel.
Firstly, St. Omer…….
Last batch.
I’ll post some shots from my two ‘stop-offs’ on the way home (Monday), later.
A few more…..
