Don’t know if this helps, but this is Shawburys gate guard taken on 2nd April this year.
Sorry its not a great photo, but it was taken from an RAF minibus as we sped past !

I can cope with a £2 price hike in 24 hours – Is it because of the CAA enforced costs?
    (Sorry bad joke)

Will probably be there on the Saturday myself.

Been a few years since I was last there – the Halifax was still a set of wings propped up outside !!!
Will definately be there for the airshow this year, as I’ve treated myself to a flight up with Air Atlantique, but may still go up before, when it will be a bit quieter.

I was surprised at seeing two Tonkas as well !!

I know this is European legislation, but haven’t the CAA jumped on the bandwagon as well?
Just reaffirms my opinion that you are no longer allowed to enjoy yourself in this country – that is unless somebody makes a large wedge of money in the process !
Why don’t they just rename ‘GB’ as ‘GP’ (gross profit) ?????

I’m just glad I’m in a position at the moment to enjoy as many shows as I can, as Papa Lima says ‘there will never be any more of this ilk.’

    Sad
    Very sad

and while I am nursing a sunburnt face and arms, and are afraid to go out for fear of people pointing and laughing, I may as well post a few more shots.

Was my first time at the Fayre also, and have to say I was very impressed.
Pity about the food stalls, so had to eat Chocolate eclairs to keep me going 😉

Good point – never thought of that.
Gonna be one large dust-sheet to cover the Victor and Vulcan when they start building on that side !!
Local lad – 20 minutes from Cosford (well down the country lanes it is anyway!) – just outside Dudley.

    Kev,
the Andover and Varsity are tucked well away beyond the hangers on the ‘live’ part of the base. If you are in the top hanger and look out of the fire exit window, beyond the Victor, you can just about see the tails alongside each other.
Can’t understand why they have been put so far away when the Argosy is still (sort of) on show.

Even though I spend half my time stuck behind a camera when visiting museums, I think I would give them a visit if I was in the area, just to see what all the fuss is about. But whether I would go back again is a different matter.
