Does anyone know if 603 is visable from the road, and if so, what road?
Thought I might have a ride by and try and get a couple of pics before she is gone forever.
I was just to the left of ARLG also with a group of four friends.
For us all it was the highlight of the show and a rare treat to be actually able to smell the exhaust gases!
There is always the chance that something may go wrong at any time, but I somehow think I had more chance of coming a cropper on the journey back on the A14 and M6 with some of the nutters on the roads than having a P-51 land on my head !
Manston airport,
Its the Severn Valley Railway that runs from Bridgnorth to Kidderminster – we were towards the Bridgnorth end.
Last few now.
Thanks guys, I’ll be there for more if you arrange another !

Can’t disagree with that Steve – lucky blighter !

Just to finish off, an aircraft that I think deserves a series of photographs all for itself, the RB-36 Peacemaker.
I remember building a model of one as a kid, which at 1:72 scale dominated the rest of my collection!
6000 miles !!!!!
And the new wife was happy with the arrangement?
She must be a saint !
Makes my 1400 miles look like a trip to the shop ‘n back !!

We made it as far as San Fransico and the USS Hornet, then flew back to LAX and on to Heathrow.
I think I visited more museums in Calif. than I’ve been to in the UK!
Will be putting up some shots from Castle soon.

I have it on good authority that we covered 1400 miles in just under 2 weeks!
Just glad I wasn’t driving !
We covered 20 or so museums and airfields, along with the Planes Of Fame airshow, had great weather on the whole, and good company, which all added up to a superb holiday.
Thanks for the link also, makes interesting reading.
Sequoia airfield.
Last batch for now, the two water-bombers parked up on the airfield.
The DC-4 looked stunning sat in the late afternoon sunshine.

American Veterans Memorial, Tulare.
Shots of the F-4 and B-17G on show at the side of the road.
I was told that the B-17 was hit by a truck a few years ago and had to be extensively rebuilt. Must admit that the rear fuselage did not look quite right around the access door.
Anyone know any more about this?
