Nice shots oag,
good to see you included -CCTH. I had a flight in that one first thing on Sunday morning, and didn’t realise it was classed as a microlight until I was told by the pilot (Never flown in anything in that class before).
Great to see Abingdon from the air, and see how how long the runway actually is, especially when we flew low along most of its length and touched-down by the car-park!
Didn’t like to go poking around it too much – there was a group of teenagers about that looked like they had come in because they had nothing better to do. Don’t think they actually looked at anything in there, just walked through shouting “cos it made an echo” (!) and I did not want to let them think they could start poking and prodding at things.
Wing? what wing? where?
Yep, I have to agree with everyone else, that airborne shot made me go ‘oooooh’ when I saw it !
I’ve also got this pic on a calendar at work.
As well as the four engines, it is also missing the wing pods so no stabiiser wheels !
If you look very very closely (as I did at a quiet moment) it appears that the pic has definately been re-touched and you can just about make out a faint line that I assume is the original wing outline.
The question has to be asked – WHY ?
I love the last one with the snow on the mountains.
More!
More!
That is one highly polished P-51 !
Great photo’s.
Final stop-off on the way home was at the East Midlands Aeropark, mainly to have a look at their Meteor TT.20, which is being restored to its Target-Tug colours.
Thanks Peter,
I thought the panel looked a bit TSR2-ish, but wasn’t sure.
Here are the couple of shots from Tollerton.
The Auster flew in, refueled and left again while I was there, and the Bulldog I assume, is a resident, as it was pushed into one of the hangars.
Last couple,
and can anyone tell me what the white panel is off, please?
It was in the building with the engines, and I could not find anything to say what it had come off.
Will post a couple of shots from Tollerton that you may find of interest shortly.
…a few more….
Here you go then folks, first batch from Newark…..
Wildcat,
thanks for the info on the reg of the JP at Metheringham. It is currently stripped of most of its paint, except for the newly finished tail – looks like it will be silver when completed.
Probably not surprisingly, I went to Newark the following day on the way home (along with Tollerton and East Mids). Got photo’s if anyone is interested.
Was a great day, as always at EK.
My Mom was onboard on the first run (Christmas present), and loved every minute!
You were standing just behind me Rlangham, going by one of the photo’s in your webshots!!
Any use ?
(The almost head-on is just for the fun of it, and the shot showing the runway just ‘cos I like it!)
Sorry the ‘real’ one is just against a blue sky.
Will look in case I’ve got any better.
Some fantastic photographs there, thanks for sharing.
I love the Tucano stream landing, and the one with the white horse in the background.
Oh, and the first Tristar shot.
Smashing
Thanks again, 252.
