Mr.B175
If memory serves correctly (and I may be missing one or two), there is an almost complete Freighter at Ardmore (missing tail-feathers),
One in store at Wigram,
The one at Blenheim,
and a nose (indoors with a Moggy Minor) and cockpit section (above the entrance) at Ferrymead.
The only Viscount I recall is the one at Ferrymead.
On a separate note, I flew in the Catalina out of Wanaka (amongst a few other flights while in that wonderful country), and carried out two touch-‘n-go’s on a nearby lake. Sitting in one of the blisters as we flew back to Wanaka, with the sun dipping in the sky behind us, is still one of my greatest aviation memories !
Now thats something you don’t see every day !!!
Great way to get a size comparison though !
When I was a kid I had a black labrador named Jet.
Does he count?
I made the trip last year for the first time.
Stayed just south of Paris in Evry, where there are plenty of Travel-Inn-type-places, and it was only about 1/2-3/4 hour drive to LFA, in an almost straight line!
If anyone wants the hotel details, pm me.
Absolutely superb show, and a great atmosphere, plus the food was fantastic as well !!
Fantastic photos again Glenn,
Thanks.
Superb Glenn – Thanks for those, made my day!
Pity she hasn’t got the blisters on the side, a great place to sit and watch the world go by!
I love the last one with the Canberra, another of my favourite types.
Regards,
TMN
These any use, guys?
The Cosford MK1 in 1939 camo. and early style canopy.
Brilliant photo’s Glenn,

(Catalina fan!)
Yey, the tanks are on.
I’ll be over again this weekend!
Cheers neal h,
Couldn’t get there myself due to an unfortunate case of work !
Oh rats – will be at work!!!!
Merlin, is it the Meteor NF14 thats moved out from hangar 1?
Merlin101,
I didn’t get any of either of them stuck in the mud, but I heard the GR1 being towed past hangar1 early afternoon, with the horn being blown on the tow-truck, so I assume that was just after they freed it !
(Thanks in advance re. the fuel tanks)
LesB
You read my mind – I sent it to a few people with “Every time you go out for a quiet ride in the country, you get some fool come at you in the middle of the road!”
Merlin,
adding to your shot of the F3, here’s a couple earlier in the day.
p.s. can you let me know if the fuel tanks get put on the Valiant this week, please?
TMN
I must make an effort to get there this year, as I haven’t been since just after they opened (The Halifax was a section and a set of wings propped up outside!).
Thanks for posting the pic’s.
