Israel signs deal to provide Azerbaijan with $1.6 billion in military equipment
JERUSALEM — Israeli defense officials say state-run Israel Aerospace Industries will sell $1.6 billion in drones and anti-aircraft and missile defense systems to Azerbaijan.
Russia to deliver 32 military helicopters to Azerbaijan in 2012, 20 Mi-17 and 12 Mi-35M. In 2011, Azerbaijan received 15 Mi-17 and 4 Mi-35M.

Last I hear ATE was going bankrupt, are you sure they are getting more SuperHind upgrades?
I don’t see any other reason for why they would create a enterprise in Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijan already operates SuperHind, they could have just ordered more, and it probably would have cost less. They went for Mi-35 instead.
I believe the Superhind upgrade for Air Force will continue, as ATE created a joint enterprise in Azerbaijan recently.
Anyway, since Mi-35Ms are for Border Troops and not Air Force, it has little to do with Superhind which the Air Force operates.
Also new Mi-17s for Border Troops.

Border Troops received first Mi-35Ms. The sum of Mi-35M contract are 360 million USD.
