This image is being used with the frenzied chest beating and Muslim bashing by Oz conservative politics to tighten the laws concerning Australians going over seas to fight as “Terrorists” in various flashpoints round the world. Since the Boar war people have been leaving the shores of Australia to fight other peoples wars. Will the Oz Government be stopping young Jewish Australians from going back to fight in another countries military (Israel) in an illegal invasion and occupation force?
One mans freedom fighter is another mans terrorist, both come as volunteers and State sponsored mercenaries.
A law stopping people is one thing, actually carrying out such an act might be racially unworkable (as in ‘you are white so you can leave the country…but you are brown-skinned and a Muslim, so you can’t!‘). Since you cannot even trust a return ticket I would guess that a government might have felt better about letting potential freedom fighters/terrorists/mercenaries/ordinary citizens leave if they had their family with them…
So please tell us, Student Pilot, what does the Australian government propose to do about this child and his parents? I’m guessing that it might have something to do with waiting until they turn up in a country with an extradition treaty with Australia?
So please tell us snafu if it is consistent to let Israeli/Australians back into the country that have seen military service in the occupied territories? They have blood on their hands as well and it’s State sponsored. There are literally thousands of young Australians returning to Australia after doing Israeli military service. What is the difference?
Interesting the developments over last few years with the likes of Iraq and Libya. Both had despot leaders kicked out, those countries before had a sort of stable political climate. The leaders they had were brutal and unforgiving. What’s going on in those countries now seems a 100 times worse. Is it because we are seeing more because of news feeds or better technology?
Here you go Keefy, let others judge my intention.
Keefy
I don’t want to get in a pissing contest so hence the PM.
I have been flying Ag and associated low level flying since 1980. In that work all of it is low level and the smallest machine has been 400 hp. 7000 (well under a third of my flying time) hours of that is radial aircraft up to an including Drom’s. Most of my work has been solo flying doing stuff from cotton, fertilising, broadacre spraying, survey, rice, forestry work and firebombing in 802 Air Tractors.
Firebombing is flying 802’s that have 1400 HP and weigh 3 tonne sitting empty, 7 tonne ready for work. Flying very low level in pretty crap conditions. There are hundreds of people the world over fly these things every summer, northern hemisphere and southern. The pilots just get on with a very dangerous job and expect nothing more than a paycheck. And these days miserable operators are cutting the pilot wages while the directors dollars go up. Firebombing is a very rewarding job, you do some good. It is immensely satisfying to help people and animals doing this work, as I said we expect nothing more than being payed and treated decently.
My criticism still stands, I think a gong for a forced landing on a runway might require buying old mate a beer, that’s all.
The reason I call myself Student Pilot is you never stop learning every time you go flying, which is most days for me. I still fly with a passion I got as a kid watching Ag aircraft and such stuff as Battle O Briton.

Your a dipstick Keefy, the reason I sent you a personal massage was NOT to brag, just to give you an insight I have been round a while, done a bit of flying and have an idea what I’m talking about. I was not derogatory or dismissive or personally insulting. I have no idea and don’t really care if you know more than me, if you want a pissing contest go ahead I don’t care.
One of the examples I gave you was of pilots flying aircraft on fires (Bombing, observation and recovery work), a very dangerous and essential job, they want nothing more than being treated fairly and being payed, both of those are a battle if your a fire pilot. A fire pilot in Europe is usually paid less than any other professional. They would laugh if you offered medals for doing what is their job.
Your reply in public here is insulting and indicates you show no respect. You not replying to my personal message shows your mettle, if you like I would be glad to copy my PM to you and post it on this thread. That would show my intention and if I was indeed arrogant, I do admit to some sarcasm. I take offence at your remarks.
Mad Max 15 or whatever the latest one is, I give it a 2 out of 10. Red Tails, the graphics are overdone. The aircraft skid around turns and is just unrealistic, 2 out of 10

Duxford was busy with lots of visitors today and there was enough variety, flying wise, to keep the Duxford Snaparazzi happy. 😀

With such a clean design it’s a shame to not have a pre war paint scheme. I have seen a silver one with classic stripes and a Lufthansa insignia that looked very nice.
Would depend on what he was doing.
The painting infers he’s rolling right like the other machine that’s peeling off towards the 111’s? If that is the case he should have some deflection of right rudder?
In the painting with that much aileron deflection surely you would have a bootfull of rudder as well?
There was a Fairy Battle buried near the rubbish tip a Kempsey, NSW. A few years ago there was some efforts to do some digging but haven’t heard anymore since.
What a bewdy, Kiwi’s would have to be one of the most aviation oriented communities. Why at airshows do people want to see things shot down in a simulated way? The strafing runs with 1000 litres of fuel erupting at the back of the airfield and machine guns played over the loudspeaker fools nobody. Or the Spitfire shooting down the Buchon trailing smoke? Do people just like the flames? Just some spirited flying satisfies me, am I the odd one out?

The co-pilot of the Germanwings Airbus was a convert to Islam
Do we know if he was a Gemini or a Taurus?
I listened to a talk by Chuck once, it was a small informal doo with mostly pilots. Chuck gave a talk of about 40 minutes covering his early days flying in England and hunting pigs in Germany post war. One of his claims was how he could see enemy aircraft from ten miles away while other pilots couldn’t. He talked about his flying through his career to the test flying. He was more than dismissive of the English and gave them and German engineers no credit with the early jet/rocket development and fast aircraft design.
Most who heard him speak thought differently of him when they left to when they arrived.
PM box is strangely empty student pilot ?
Try now 😀
